It's interesting to note that both letters make reference to 'past glories' and that Warnovk is the worst manager in the clubs history, even at that point, not true, certainly not now either. The letters sound like they have been written by 'senior gents' as well, judging by the tone and style of the letters.

Bet AJ Traynor was furious when we got to Wembley, then won promotion the following season. Wonder if he went to either Wembley jaunt?

A J Traynar obviously wasn't a fan!! The misspelling of players' names (Gary Barnet) isn't just a DATM thing then?

A J Traynar obviously wasn't a fan!! The 30-year-old he refers to is Ronnie Jepson, isn't it? Good to see the old Yorkshire 'HOW MUCH!?' alive and kicking.

I think Warnock’s lost the plot. It actually reminds me of when he joined us the first time. When he arrived he got rid of all talent and pace and made bizzare team selections and canned our best players, i actually hated him at the time. The following season i quickly changed my mind and enjoyed that season as much as any. Think he’s got the wrong memo this time, we needed wins immediately. My Dad said after the Coventry game that it reminded him of what Warnock's football was like in his first season. It's often forgotten these days that Warnock was hated up until the Autoglass run (I know a lad who still hates him even now!). My Dad recalls a game where most of the crowd were singing "Neil Warnock, you're a wanker" at him. It is. We were atrocious until that auto glass run kicked some sort of life into us. Pretty sure we were 2nd bottom by the end of February..then lost a home game to the side who were bottom,, might have been brighton..and some of the crowds were tragic.. 3500 levels. It was on a par with Wadsworth it was that bad. Amazing what a cup run can do. These days Warnock would have been sacked before we had chance to have one.

I was never a fan, just because we had a good footballing side when we arrived sold two of our best players to Southampton who were at the top level at the time.
His method did prove effective though and he did get us out of the third tier.

Here's another classic from December 1993. Manor Road, Farnley Tyas. I bet that letter was written to the Examiner with a fountain pen… Football mags used to print the full address, house number and everything. I wonder if anyone ever went round for a word...

Of all players to criticise I struggle with Rudoni being at the top of peoples list
He never goes missing, runs all day, gets put in every position known and whilst we paid money for him, he’s a young lad who has stepped up. Clearly potential, glimpses of it on evidence, just not enough agreed
It’s not his fault we loaned the best corner taker in the division to get more experience
I thought he started the season well, dipped, but I think he’s come back. It’s have been quite easy to go missing as a young player in a struggling team but he hasn’t
I reckon he’ll surprise a few on here in years to come

As for the game
First half less said the better. Timid. Far too negative too early in transition - I get Wagner teams are at their most dangerous in transition, quality of players, speed & movement and they didn’t carve through us but felt like we weren’t allowed to attack
Second half was fine - 9 shots to 5 is a fair reflection of that half. Clear improvement first 20, spirit, more positive even - struggled after Koroma went off / change shape, later subs impacted positively - just felt 10 mins too late But you struggle to see where we’re going to score from if we take the same approach.

Why? It's football, not rugby Waghorn bagged that goal due to crap defending. But otherwise their defence looked pretty comfortable. When faced with an unknown quantity like Simpson they struggled, albeit only for the 10 mins or so he was on the pitch. I thought we might have had a decent shout for a pen with him towards the end, and others suggested he should have gone down when he hit the side netting. Playing strikers like Waghorn and Ward every game just plays into the opposition hands. Simpson and Rhodes would be an interesting partnership, with Diarra running from midfield. We’ll still be odds on to be relegated, but at least if we have a few players that give it a shot, it at least feels like we’ve made a fist of it. That’s 2 consecutive home games where I think we’ve missed an opportunity. What would another 2, or even 4 pts do for the mood in the camp? One positive I’ll still take from this season is the age of our squad. If, as is likely, we have to re-build from L1, we need to keep these youngsters. I just hope they can reset themselves mentally for next season. UTT!!! A fair comment. The age of our squad is dominated by under 23 & over 32. We’ve a severe lack of players in their peak!

Must say I know his time was only limited yesterday but didn't half think Simpson offered a different dimension when he came on.
I havent thought much too him so far but he used his body well, he was a handful. I'm not saying he's a starter but could be used to shake things up in games coming off the bench.

Just before he put the shot into the side netting the defender was trying to pull him all over because of his stature he stayed upright and managed the shot off wonder if he had of gone down whether the twatmuffin in the middle would of given us a pen!!

Yep terrible referee. I'd like to see the reason he gave a free kick against Simpson, looked like was being pulled backwards to me. And the game was stopped for 3 mins within the 5 mins added on and didn't play any of it. Yet again we see professional footballers having worked out another con trick. I know, I’ll sit down on the pitch and break up play, telling the Ref I’m suffering a potential head injury. I know their lad sat down twice in the first half and had to be subbed, but they then did it at least once more in the second half. When are the footballing authorities going to wake up to this blatant bloody cheating? The Ref should be up there and making his own initial assessment, and if he thinks they’re putting it on (shock, horror), then get ‘em off the pitch and give ‘em a yellow card. It really pisses me off some of the stunts these namby pamby feckers pull every week… I really think that if the game is stopped for a head injury, the ref should make the player leave the field. Like you saynits just a way to stop the game now
