Sheff Utd now on the piss and then have to be taken off the beach to play town. Surely they will put a weakened team in as it doesnt really matter to them in the title race if they win ,draw or loose QPR and Reading seemed to have cashed in after Burley got promoted so now its our turn with Sheff Utd Still think it will be decided against Reading and abit worried as that Andy Caroll always seems to be a thorn in our side Come on Sugy, it’s only another n you need to find… 😉

It's almost crunch time isn't it..the final act in this tense thriller. We've been sat aside watching the performance of others during a 12 day absence from the action. We've seen QPR (4 pts), Blackpool (3 pts), cardiff (4 pts) and Wigan (6 pts) close in on us , or overtake us. The gap below us has narrowed so yes, we're looking over our shoulder now. Still 4 games to be played before we finally get back into action on Sunday..things could get much worse, Reading could overtake us, Blackpool draw level on points... Tonights key game, Rotherham v Cardiff surely has to be an away win..potentially putting Cardiff safe before we play them.. It's like death by a thousand cuts with a key game each day... We can only watch, and hope.. Here's a thought, Town & Reading both win their next two games, who would you want to be below the Royals (if anyone)........QPR for me, tough on Reading if it was them. Other than "not us" I'm struggling to be too concerned by who goes down. If you offered me Blackpool, Wigan and Reading to drop I'd take that with both hands - even though I have nothing against any of those sides. If our safety was guaranteed, then of all the sides currently threatened by relegation I'd probably choose Reading to stay up with us - simply because their fans were a really decent bunch in 2017. But in all honesty the only side I give a monkeys about is ourselves.

For those of a nervous disposition, there are still results that could see us as the strongest team in the league… 😂
We obviously have to lose all 3 games and even with Wigan winning their last 2 they’re still down with us & Reading… 😉

Or Reading loose Saturday, we win Sunday and we are safe. Prefer that option.

Blackpool lose tonight and Wigan beat Reading tomorrow, then Cardiff won't care about Sunday. It might affect their outlook on our game, hopefully I our favour.

Blackpool lose or draw, Wigan win and if we can pull another win in the next two, that's the simplest and quickest way to safety.
However, if Blackpool win or Wigan win and we don't in the next two, there will be three maybe four teams scrapping for two places on the final day

I think everything being taken into consideration regarding the various permutations, mind boggling, so if a Rotherham fan bought a fish butty after the match last night, and a Cardiff fan bought fish and chips, and a wigan fan due to travel to Reading dropped his pot of coffee at work this aft...do you think that might have bearing on our survival prospects.

Seems strange that if one result goes a particular way tomorrow, our game v Cardiff could mean the relegation places are sorted by 2PM on Sunday.
That would (assuming Rotherham lose to Boro on Mon) still give Wigan the opportunity to draw level with Rotherham by beating them on the last day, but the manner of the Boro and Wigan defeats for Rotherham would have to be significant to reverse the GD advantage with Wigan.
No chickens being counted here of course.

Relegation odds. Reading 1/3, Town 5/2, Rotherham 18/1, QPR 28/1.

Relegation odds. Reading 1/3, Town 5/2, Rotherham 18/1, QPR 28/1. So basically we are 2 points behind Rotherham with a game in hand. We are 5/2 to stay up they are essentially 36/2 to stay. 7 times more likely!

Fantastic result for us Millwall winning. Now we need not worry what Blackpool does against Norwich.
So far, since our last game, we've avoided the drop into the zone.
AS IT STANDS. Games to watch BEFORE we play are: Stoke Vs QPR, to keep QPR in the mix and the big one Reading hosting Wigan.
IDEAL RESULT would be Stoke beating QPR, and Wigan beating Reading.
If Wigan do beat Reading, then all we would need is 1 win in 3 and we are safe OR a draw against Reading would be enough IF Wigan don't beat Rotherham.
If it's draw, that'd keep us out of the zone but on equal points with Reading and it'd go down to the final day unless we take 4 points in the next 2 games
If Reading DO win, that means Wigan are relegated (and can't catch us), and it moves Reading above us by 2 points. We can still avoid a final day relegation fight if we are to beat Cardiff and Sheffield United
Looking forward
Should we beat Cardiff OR Sheffield United, and QPR or Rotherham lose their next game (QPR vs Stoke as mentioned, or Rotherham Vs Boro) then they will also be in the mix on the final day

Wigan win their remaining 2 games they have 46. We lose to Cardiff and sheff we still have 44. Would mean a must win on the last day as a draw would send us and Reading both down with Blackpool.

Personally the more that drop before the last game the better. I would rather just have the 1 relegation spot than 2 going into the last game. Perfect scenario (which never happens) Reading V Wigan draw. We get 4 points Sunday and Thursday. Hope Rotherham lose today and let Readong and Rotherham battle it out on the last day with us safe!

One point is not going to be enough for us under almost every scenario. We defo want a Wigan win today, it could be no bad thing that they need to beat Rotherham.

Also even though our goal difference is currently better than Reading’s for it to become relevant it automatically becomes worse. Doing my head in all this.

Not sure why people on here want a draw. That means if we lose next two we have to win on the final day, no? Opposed to a wigan win where they would still need to win on the final day and for us to get 1 or less points over the next 3

If Reading were to lose today i’d really fancy us to beat Cardiff with nothing to play for and to keep us up. We’d simply want it more.

As I said further above, by 2PM tomorrow it could all be done bar the shouting.
It would be remarkable to be in a position where we have 2 dead rubbers at home in the last 2 games, considering where we were a little over 6 weeks ago (& you can add in an international break and a week off for us as well).
It is football though, take nowt for granted. It’ll be much clearer come 5PM today though, which is not a bad thing for Warnock to work with 18h or so before the Cardiff game.

I think Warnock has been buttering Cardiff up for weeks knowing this might be a big game for us. He’ll be clapping the crowd and everything giving as little reason as possible to get excited in an early kick off game that will be more of a celebration for them than a football match.

Just found a new scenario that I think would have everyone most on edge.
If Reading lose today by one goal
Then we draw our next two games we could lose 1-0 to Reading on the final day and stay up by a goal difference of 1 goal.

Worth noting that if we both ended up on the same goal difference, Reading would finish ahead of us on goals scored (unless we had a couple of 2-2 or 3-3 draws in the next 2, which would mean we'd score more than them)
