Surely a club can change its budget at any time? If not then wouldn't everybody submit a budget that is £1 within FFP rules. Don't you still have to show where the income to cover your budget is coming from? That would be the owners pockets wouldn't it? Unless we are never going to spend another dime on a player unless we are making a profit.

Unless we are never going to spend another dime on a player unless we are making a profit. Not sure. It was a genuine question. I didn't mean making a profit. I just presumed that if you can evidence from income that you won't go past the threshold of FFP then you're fine.

Think there should be news this week. They were saying during the Everton game that the result of their appeal should be available this week so hopefully they get points back and Forest and QPR get hit with penalties.

QPR will be dealt with separately as the EFL manage ffp for the championship. I think qpr might have only had losses in the previous year of £4m after transfer income (Eze). The quote of 20 odd million for that year might not therefore be quite as reported. Losses jumped massively last year due to no transfer income.

Are we doing ok in regards of FFP? Might need a big sale after sacking a lot of staff and January purchases?not sure how it all works, hopefully we can give the new boss a decent amount in the summer to spend.

I don't know this but I suspect the same. A 10/12m sale in the summer. Does anyone know if that then is the end of the 3 Yr accounting period and we then get another 3 year run or if something else is on play that the current board took on when they bought the club?

Followed by a soft looking chap carrying a couple of briefcases loading them into a white van.

£20m loss includes £12m on a training ground, which is FFP deductable. Along with other deducatbales such as academy etc.

Looking like Forest will end up getting a ten point deduction this season, putting them in the bottom 3..
Also noted by Kieran Maguire on twitter that they lost 51 million in the championship. Get them relegated.

For HTAFC, the run-rate required to breach the -£39M 3-year Adjusted Earnings*** aggregate is going to be an accounting loss of over -£15M each season.
Even for 2023-24 with all the managerial changes and below-average income from player sales, I wouldn't expect our loss to be on that scale.
Probably a more pertinent question is whether the owner is intending to routinely subsidise the sort of £15M+ annual losses that would be required for FFP to become a genuine concern.
2022/23 accounts are due out at the end of next month so forecasts can be updated (also of interest is how the write-off of DH's Directors Loan has been handled).
***The FFP 'Adjusted Earnings' number is your accounting loss adjusted to exclude tangible fixed asset depreciation (HTAFC = £1.9M in 2022) and any community / youth / women's football expense.

Get them relegated. Think I remember reading at the time that when they, Fulham and Bournemouth got promoted, they had total losses between them for that season of around £180m, so that £51m sounds about right. Bonkers - particularly when you consider 2 of the 3 were in receipt of parachute payments. Wonder what the figures will be for this season for Leicester, L***s and Southampton?
