Beating Brighton 3-1 was pretty good, followed up by beating Leeds 2-1 the next game.

Lots of games with favourite results in high pressure situations but maybe the glow of memory is that outcome rather than the stress that the game entailed....Reading play off final falls into that! Brentford away I consistently have described as the most emotion....both fear, terror and elation.
However...and sure there are many many I've forgotten but Blackpool away first game of warnocks promotion season. In the away end with my mates kids....wondering whether we would be the team who finished the last season in fantastic form or the one who were appalling for two thirds of it.
Then blown away by the performance and trying not to celebrate each goal....if one game ever made a season it was that one!
Probably a mention too for Barnsley at home and the 28901 crowd. As a 11 year old that was simply unbelievable...never seen anything like it.

1972 FA cup 5th round v west ham 4-2 atmosphere was amazing old guys in open end singing there hearts out,Frank Worthington magnificent that day made Bobby Moore look silly. Had a lot of great times watching Town as well as the bad but this match the standout for me Mine too Yorik. Still clearly remember the icing on the cake that was Frank's goal. In more recent times the win over Leeds with the added fracas was also fun. UTT

A bit too distant for some but Town 6 Bradford 3 New Years Day 1983 was special Unbelievable week, 3 days prior we won at Lincoln City whose 11 wins from 11 played at Sincil Bank was tossed aside with a brilliant display & 2-1 victory for Town, then a few days after NYD massacre of Sadders we lost on a cow field at Springfield Park (2-0 Wigan Ath).......Highs & lows of football, especially when your a Town fan.

As an oldie, I loved the 2-1 win against Leeds in 1970-71 season. Roy Ellam and Jimmy Lawson.
Going to school with a load of Leeds fans on the Monday was just as good.

For pure ecstasy, it has to be Palace away. Other than that I would probably say Rotherham away, 3-2 Tommy smith winner in the last minute. Wow what a night.

I can go back to the late 70s and there are just too many games from different periods down the years to pick out a favourite.
I've seen most of the games mentioned so far and yes they were all special.
For me though, no game I've been to before or since, could beat the L1 promotion against Sheff Utd in 2012. Not so much the game itself which was mundane but the shoot out and particularly when Simonsen missed. The build up to that moment as we missed our first 3 then clawed it back, to the unbelievable tension of having 5 or 6 match points on the trot but they kept scoring. I can't ever remember a single moment in all my Town watching life that matched the emotions that followed 0.1 seconds after he cleared the bar.

There's lots, the 4-2 West Ham cup game, my first away game 3-2 at Burnley when Bobby Hoy scored 2, winning 3-1 Hereford away but in recent times the game I enjoyed most was the 1-1 draw away at Villa under Wagner, we didn't even win but the feeling something was happening was great and the Heff scoring off his arse made it even better.

I'd still go for Brentford in '95 but an honourable mention for the Scunthorpe game in 2004, 2-1 down and down to 10 men then McAliskey arrived or the 5-4 against unbeaten, top of the league Oldham, again with 10 men (I think) in '86

There are several, many already mentioned on this thread, but for me Man United at home will always have a special place.
Not a stand out performance, also nothing riding on it bar three points but it just felt like we'd finally arrived back in the big time after about 35 years of dreaming my case.
To beat Manchester United at home, fairly convincingly, in a league fixture was a dream come true! We maybe peaked that day tbh!

Possibly been done to death, but Brentford away in the playoffs will always take some beating. Definitely mine too. Although a close second is Sunderland in the league cup, 4-0, Owers (I think) sent off, worst bit I was in the away end so couldn't celebrate but the journey back down to college with 3 Mackems was quite nice

Really hard to decide, in fact i cant cos i've seen so many games where i've come out absolutely buzzing, you think of one game and then you think of another that might top it.Especially reading this thread Edit: Just to prove the point, someone mentioned 4-4 Wendies, made me think of THAT Waddle Sadford game, brilliant. Edit2: Blackpool away, Warnock's promotion season, best display of wing-play I've seen live.

The play off finals, whilst usually great endings were torture and horrific to watch, so would have to leave them out.
Not new suggestions, but the 2 games that stand out are York away in '04 and United at home in '17.
Don't know what it was about that Sunday afternoon in York. Cold winters day, Town weren't in great form from memory, but there was 4,000 on that away terrace and we were all just bang up for it. Their keeper Ovendale took some right hammer off us 2nd half. Perfect ending of 2 goals in stoppage time which caused absolute bedlam.
Man United at home, I nearly didn't bother going. Was out on a day session in Leeds with the lads, and being the only Town fan, knew I'd have to break off for a few hours and get the train to Hudds for the game. When it got to 2pm ish and we're 4-5 pints in I was so close to sacking it off thinking I'm only going to miss a 3/4-0 defeat. Christ I would have never forgiven myself. Best atmosphere I've ever seen in the stadium, complete performance from every single player and the only time I've cheered a block tackle (Zanka at the end) as much as a goal. Glorious.

14 April 1970 Watford H 3 - 1 Krzywicki (2), Lawson 27,916
I don't recall the game that well but as a young lad being tossed around the cowshed all game and living in the tremendous atmosphere has never been matched. Even after the game when we were presented with the trophy for being champions of Division 2 (championship nowadays for the younger people), the atmosphere was electric.
I remember the away game 10 days earlier, away at Blackburn (won 2-0) better where we actually clinched the title, which was thrilling but the atmosphere being away from home and a 3pm k.o. did not come close.

The only one I wasn't at that would be up there - the away leg of the playoffs against Wednesday.
Man United at home, partly because I loathe them.
Personal favourite, though - the 7-1 drubbing of Palace.

We had near half the 12k crowd, treble their average, and all squeezed into one corner of that open terrace. I could not move and my feet hardly touched the ground. Literally.

Too many to choose from but Srockport away in the Autoglass when Iain Dunn scored in Warnocks first spell, crazy scenes behind the goal. Probably the start of the renaissance of the club with the move to the new stadium on the horizon. One of my mates was on the pitch celebrating with them when he scored. He went last minute and ended up in the main stand. Then was on the pitch from there.

Oldham were unbeaten and Town had yet to win. For me I have fond memories of travelling over to Bury where we saw a 4-4 draw (4-0 down at one point in first half), then a 6-0 away win when Bury were sat in top two followed by a 6-0 defeat a season or so later. Seemed we were always guaranteed an entertaining game away at Bury!!

Total random one given it's relative lack of importance, but one game that stands out from when I was younger was a 3-2 night game home win against Bolton in early 99 under Jacko. We went behind and then ended up 3-1 up due to a Craig Armstrong wonder goal (on his home debut I think). Nico Vaesen was brilliant and almost scored from a punt up field that caught the wind. Also believe it was Tom Cowan's last game for us.

Yes rememeber it well, it ignited an upturn in fortunes that saw us go on a right run in the last third of the season, from relegation candidates to losing two games in fifteen that saw us finish 11th, good times that got even better.
