Pretty sure that wad Hartlepool Westie. 1-0 down at half time and a Robins brace in the 2nd half to clinch the title and 101 league goals for the season. Great spot benhomly and Thank You for putting me right ! 👍 (Will rectify)... Aye - I think I’ve maybe got confused with when we got promoted v Newport County a few seasons later - Hopefully I’ve got this one correct ! 😊 I also seem to vaguely recall (I’m sure that I haven’t dreampt this) Newport County playing in EUROPE on Harry Carpenters old programme Sportsnight on BBC on a muddy pitch v a German team called something like Carl Zeiss Jana and far on in the competition... Just seems weird Newport County in Europe ! Fairly sure they could have got in as Welsh Cup Winners, at the time.

That's how the Welsh clubs qualified for Europe by winning the Welsh Cup until UEFA kyboshed it by stopping the non league of Wales clubs entering due to playing in the English system.

Don’t know about favourite but one of my most memorable was town v wolves at Leeds road. We had Maskill and they had Steve bull and I told my my dad there are going to be goals today! Nil nil🤦♂️ Favourite might have been play off second leg against Lincoln and Rob Edwards scoring? I may have that completely wrong due to age!

Yeah the Wolves game was shite, they brought a good following that day and they should have won easily from what I remember.

Funny how the memory plays tricks. The only time I went to VP before the 2 tier stand was built was '91, I think. Might've been the game just after Judas Stapleton became their player manager and Iwan snapped him straight from kick off. I seemed to remember it being a big terrace behind the goal, it looks tiny on that. Went in the chicken run down the side a couple of times after that too. We were given the kop end for our promotion party in 83?? When it had no roof (opposite end to the normal away end) Lost 3-1 that day and It really did kick off big style Pretty sure that was when they played at Odsall, when VP was closed after the fire. I remember that game, Jacko scored against us and gave us a load of V signs! How times changed.

We definitely lost there as we went up - they gave us a guard of honour before spanking us.

Think most of my favourites have already been mentioned, but I've got to highlight Hartlepool at home - 1-0 down at half time. Cowling comes on and transforms the game. Robins equaliser. Pandemonium in the cowshed. Then the winner. Div 4 champions.
I've had thousands of years watching Town and not even the joy of seeing Mooy in a Town shirt in the Premier league has come close to that feeling.
PS honourable mentions to Sheff Utd away (Kindon), Exeter away (Kindon), Newcastle away (despite losing 5 2), Leeds away (Cowling), Newcastle home (Mooy), West Ham home (Frank), Chelsea away (Kenny).

Blackpool away 1994. Just perfect. That one sticks in the mind, I won £2.00 on those amusement arcade horse racing games when pink horse number 8 rode home! (We couldn't get in the ground as the away end was full) Great game the Blackpool one, I must admit after a skinfull at lunch time I had to sneak to the front of the que to get in!

We were already promoted and I remember watching the recordrd highlights with John Helm commentating. Shite game though.

But I remember Town and Wolves in the Steve Bull era (ugh) and a fight breaking out during the game on the bankin between the LB and the North Stand. I remember being fixed on that rather than the game. I’m gonna guess at 96/97?
