I'd still go for Brentford in '95 but an honourable mention for the Scunthorpe game in 2004, 2-1 down and down to 10 men then McAliskey arrived or the 5-4 against unbeaten, top of the league Oldham, again with 10 men (I think) in '86 Remember the Oldham game and Simon Webster had been sent off very early in the game. Oldham were unbeaten and Town had yet to win. For me I have fond memories of travelling over to Bury where we saw a 4-4 draw (4-0 down at one point in first half), then a 6-0 away win when Bury were sat in top two followed by a 6-0 defeat a season or so later. Seemed we were always guaranteed an entertaining game away at Bury!! Crap how did I forget the 4-4! Probably counts as one of the favourite half games I suppose up there with Wrexham away under warnock coming from 1-0 down to win 2-1. Another that springs back into the memory is the Rhodes 5 goals at Wycombe. Remember laughing my head off at one of the last goals as it seemed that he could score as many as he liked that day. Despite the ultimate result Swansea at Wembley in the autoglass. Never ever thought I'd see town at wembley

Blackpool away 1994. Just perfect. That one sticks in the mind, I won £2.00 on those amusement arcade horse racing games when pink horse number 8 rode home! (We couldn't get in the ground as the away end was full)

One of the games was Blackpool v Blackburn from either '77 or '78. Before the game Bob Hatton was presented with a memento because he'd already scored either 2 or 3 hattricks that season. It finished either 5 or 6-2 to Blackpool. Hatton scored 4 and had 2 disallowed

Plus his interview after the game was good. Playing up front with him was Walsh - the one who a couple of years later won MOTD’S Goal of the Season.

Carlisle United in 1994. At last I had the chance to see Town at Wembley.
(Although there are plenty of other favourites of mine mentioned in this thread - Brentford, Blackpool, Stockport, Bury to name a few.)
Funnily enough, all away games

Longest extra time ever in the days before they put the board up. I really thought they were playing until Carlisle equalised.

A bit too distant for some but Town 6 Bradford 3 New Years Day 1983 was special Unbelievable week, 3 days prior we won at Lincoln City whose 11 wins from 11 played at Sincil Bank was tossed aside with a brilliant display & 2-1 victory for Town, then a few days after NYD massacre of Sadders we lost on a cow field at Springfield Park (2-0 Wigan Ath).......Highs & lows of football, especially when your a Town fan. Went to all 3. Like you say, highs and lows. Ffs. We got lost trying to find Springfield park. But so did the team bus. We ended up following it to the ground 😂😂😂.

This game!! Simply the best. Funny how the memory plays tricks- I was at that game yet whenever I think of it I picture it as an evening kick-off for some reason. Did we beat Palace 4-1 in a midweek game the season before? Maybe that's what my brain is getting confused by... Lay off the tooooop smooooooooke, kids!

I remember going to York City away in 2004, played on a Sunday afternoon for some reason. We went in my Dad's car with a couple of his mates. We were lost, so we pulled up and asked this old bloke walking his dog if he knew where the football ground was? He replied "Yes", nodded his head and then started walking off. My Dad's mate said, "well are you going to tell us where it is then?". He gave us the directions and off we went. We followed his directions and found the ground. The rugby ground!

That's the kind of stupidity/facetiousness I'd associate with my family. My mam was once ironing, while listening/watching telly. Without looking up she asked us to turn the TV over. So we did. None of us (me, sis and dad) could stop laughing/sniggering/giggling so she eventually looked up. To see we'd LITERALLY turned the TV over so it was upside down

Bootham Crescent was one of those grounds that was a relatively easy to find on foot (from station), but an absolute mare in York's not so straight forward one way system.......Moved because Chelsea were at Scarborough in FAC on the Saturday, remember we left it late to win.

Result / day out combined, I’d say winning 4-0 at Donny (night match) in the 82/83 promotion season. We must have had 4 pints in twenty minutes on Westgate, then bolted into the station for the train. Whilst carrying a carry-out
Honourable mentions: Winning at Leeds in LC, November 82 Day out at Bournemouth (3-1 win) October 79 Blackburn (2-2) first game 83-84. Felt like Town had regained respectability after years in the depths The 6-3 “Brian Stanton game” (as it should always be known,) mentioned above, was tremendous

Lincoln away was a bit scary for an early teenage me. Bottles flying everywhere on that split open terrace!!! Also got lost trying to find Springfield bloody park......what a godforsaken spot that was.....open terrace / a grass bank behind it and the only shelter on top of that such as it was! If it was Chelsea i seem to recall Lillis missing two 1 on 1s and it being carnage on the East Terrace. I remember that ........ but not stuff from last month!!!!

Stamford Bridge 2018. The feeling walking down the Fulham Road after the match singing with a bunch of Town fans and the Chelsea fans watching on with a grudging respect. Then a Spurs fan on the tube thanking me for guaranteeing them a Champions League spot. Heady days. Then the next day reports of the team going on the lash in London, with Depoitre going for a ride in a tricycle and Mooy having a crafty fag. The match wasn’t bad either.

Your post is exactly how i remembered it as well, the Chelseas fans outside the ground were fine and i also remember some Spurs fans on the tube happy we'd stopped Chelsea from winning, train back next day was great, some of the town coaching staff including Christoph Buhler and their wives/girlfriends were in our carriage, it was a great journey home and i lived off it until we played er....Chelsea first game of the season after, a comprehensive 3-0 defeat.

there's so many, but what lingers longest in my memory was theFA Cup replay v Wolves in 1961
I'd only started getting into football the year before, I'd watched my first FA CupFinal in 1960, Wolves beating Blackburn..my brother took me to my first away game in Wolverhampton who were the cup holders.the match was on BBC Tv that night...but the replay was something else...a night match, floodlights on , and a crowd I'd never seen the likes of before. I can still remember whole chunks of it, I can still feel that atmosphere with 46,000+ fans in the ground...

Boxing Day, 1969 - big crowd, local derby and Town beat Sheffield United 2-1. Think it was my first time in the cowshed too - 3 weeks short of my 10th birthday.
