Ok, for all the sad sacks, negative Nellys and little old Huddersfield Town people, it’s time to listen up. Firstly, I don’t live in Huddersfield, the UK or Europe. I have no association to Huddersfield other than I watched the best Australian footballer of his generation play for you. In 7 odd years of watching Town I’ve spent probably $20 on iFollow to watch Town and added Bein Sports so I could watch Town occasionally. The reason I have spent fuck all on Huddersfield Town is the real lack of a quality product to buy. The Huddersfield Town App to me is a disgrace and my access to watching through iFollow is pathetic. It’s not up to the standard that I expect to spend money on. With regards to merchandise, I haven’t spent a cent there either. Not because I don’t want to, but it’s a long way from the UK to Australia to post returns that don’t fit. So size standards are very important and having collaborations with the Sacramento team, selling in standard sizes and products are the type of products that create and promote more buying. The world is a big place with 8B customers looking to put their money, time and energy into a multitude of different hobbies and interests. I’m one of those 8B, but there will be many more as evidenced by the Wrexham series. If you haven’t seen it, the first episode of the second season features a number of football supporters from all over the world who have come to watch a game. The people of Wrexham speak of the increase in tourism and money being spent in the town. In the first season there were the same group of doubters, the same “it’ll never work” naysayers. My point is, get in behind the club and the owner, they are trying to do something that could benefit all. As someone who lives half a world away I want to spend money on your club and I sure as shit won’t be the only person. There’ll be a massive amount of people worldwide looking to spend their money on football and the mighty Huddersfield Town. Get used to it. We talk of spending money on strikers and moan that we can’t compete with the likes of Luton, let alone Middlesbrough, WBA and Leeds. These teams are global brands or in Luton’s case becoming a global brand. Huddersfield need to become a global brand to enable us to be competitive. The Premier League gave the club a chance that I honestly think the club missed in their attempt to stay charming as Little Huddersfield. Fuck that, stop the small time thinking and back the club and Nagle. The club has massive history and is a big club. Its time to attract worldwide revenue and allow the club to be the club it’s meant to be, a big sustainable club in the world of football. To Domenic et al, please improve the viewing experience of Huddersfield Town, the HTTV app needs a proper makeover to become a professional platform. Give me something that I’m happy to spend my money on that works 100% of the time. I think this was more lack of having a clue how to handle it. The best attempt we made was the terribly designed (by a local, probably cheap designer) Terrier and the bizarre celebration of Chinese New Year for whatever reason. Our staff were so far out of their depth. Hopefully this new team is a little more prepared for building something on a bigger platform.

Why isn't the megastore on there too, and ticketing? In true HTFC style its half-arsed box ticking.

This type of appointment is exactly what we need and the people being appointed are known to the new owner and his people because in their world they have proven results. This is a fantastic step forward in my opinion.

[/quote] It was clunky back then and turned me off from using it. You are right though, they’ve done nothing to make it a true success and a professional modern product. For a club that has struggled for revenue, they’ve left plenty of money on the table. Don’t know if it worked, had to delete my post, it’s too long and takes up too much space. Hopefully I haven’t done a prepare/positive 😂 Edit: I think I’ve done a reverse prepare 😂

I recently got a HTFC showerproof coat {with hood} in light blue, oversize so that I can wear a gilet underneath. It was complimented on by the nurse that gave me my last covid jab.I have had a navy sweater 1/4 zip stand up neck HTFC on sleeve,it still looks great even on an old git like me. When they're good they're REALLY good it seems. Just doesn't seem to happen so often. I've got loads of Town jumpers from the 90s, all still wearable. But I don't think I've bought one since around 2005 and my (at the time) girlfriend nicked that one

You’d think at least it would push notifications and hell, some of us can’t even access it in the ground !

Yeah, the app - like the website and iFollow - is provided by the digital arm/partner of the EFL, AFAIK. I don't think the club could build their own even if they wanted to. It's why nearly all EFL clubs'* websites look virtually the same (terrible) and have the same (amateurish) bugs.
*Exceptions being clubs that have come down from the Prem, or been promoted from non-league

I have lots and lots and lots of Town merchandise from strips, polos, t-shirts, presentation jackets, training tops, shower jackets etc... I’m hardly at 53 with a beer belly for Scotland exactly male model material for to show them off but I do anyway and pretty much every day - As we all know each other up on these shores, I’ve had nothing but complementary comments on how smart ma ‘Footy Gear’ always is - not me but The Footy Gear... So Town must be doing something right in that division and Luke and his team at HTAFC superstore are very pleased when I report this mega positive Town merchandise positivity of opinion from Bonnie Scotland back to them ! 😊 👍

I'm sure Gok Wan used to say the opposite to the ladies he used to grope, er sorry I mean help. I can only go on when I put my Town shirt on, look down, and the stripes veer off to either side once they pass my chest 😉😁Yip - I’m the same Porroh with that bought and very much paid for Tennents Lager beer belly for Scotland... I once got told in the pub here that the Blue & White stripes were appropriate for me as they looked like barrel type staves and I worked in The Distillery - 🥃 🥃 Even though I was a production worker and not in the cooperage, filling store or warehouses very often, I did have a wry chuckle at that from time to time and still do when I wear the home kit... I might just wear the new one to the boozer tomorrow for Sky Soccer Saturday ! 😊

It really isn't hard to design things which will sell. Anyone who comes up with the idea of denim jackets with big letters and a club on the back wants marching out the door long before it ever becomes reality.

Simple. Keep it to the basics and keep them competitively priced. This is Yorkshire, and not a (currently) huge club.
Retail offerings go hand in hand with the H Town bar, fan zone, etc. They all add revenue but only pitched the right way.

More subtle, just a town and/or HTFC lettering embroidered on the breast(s). There's no saving the denim though!

Surprise surprise, another "known to Cartwright" appointment. Interesting, how well have those US Sporting brands done in the UK that he's worked with before? I get what you are saying but our commercial success in England is what it is, you're never gonna get a Leeds fan buying a Town mug or towel etc. His success in the USofA is what matters, that is the growth area for town whether we like it or not. The by-product of that growth is hopeful improved merchandise for Town fans or an improvement in the whole retail process, running it like a separate cost centre within the club will be important. I don't know the in's and out's right now but I would imagine the cost of running the retail operation is swallowed up by the overall budget and their success or failure is rather irrelevant. They are there to serve the 20,000 fans or so within Huddersfield and the rest spread out elsewhere, they are not there currently to make money for the club. You never know! I used to buy a mug from every ground I went to, as a more permanent reminder and more useful than a programme. ( Not always on the day, sometimes postal after) All bar three currently in use for myself are of course sat in boxes in the loft. The three in use, HTFC Hull and Wolves. Thankfully I've promised myself never to go to the skip, but stopped collecting a good few years ago.

Not surprised as most of the stuff is atrocious. Thousands of pounds wasted on buying merchandise we won’t even sell, especially at the ridiculous prices they’re on at.
Not ideal when we are desperate for income. I’d be sacking whoever else approved the designs.
Keep it simple and reasonably priced. Maybe a bit of market research which would be easy and simple enough.
