Out for 8-10 weeks, knee ligament damage, that's him done for the season, doubt he'll ever play for Town again. Fuck. If we play 3 at the back, that means we have watch Lees trying to play left sided centre half and not being able to pass water 🫣

For a Japanese international hes been a surprisingly poor signing IMO. You'd expect him to be a better player than he is.
but hes also too fragile for the rigours of the championship.
Not one we should be looking to keep after this season IMO.

A 'what if' Town career if ever there was one. He looked positive in a poor side, got his injury, and since he came back has been a shadow of what I suspect even he would hope to be. That injury last season is the defining moment, and I suspect is going to define the rest of his career.

That injury last season is the defining moment, and I suspect is going to define the rest of his career. for me the defining moment will be the audacious (if spawny) long-range effort from in front of the Kilner last season- one of the few highlights of the first half of last season along with the Ruffels overhead at Loftus Road.

From the brief time we've seen him so far, the new lad looks an upgrade

Don't know what his injury record was prior to joining Town, but he must've walked under a few ladders. Must be watching a different player to me. Makes me nervous defensively and gets bullied. Has glimpses of quality on the ball but overall a disappointment. Maybe his bad injury has been a part of that but don’t see this qualify player you refer to.

Lees was brilliant against Watford, really stepped up without Helik. Now I’m not saying Lees is the answer but no way has Yuta shown he’s better than Lees.

Always liked him. Put a shift in. Decent player. But not really up to the rigours of the Championship, never looks strong enough and unfortunately suffered too many setbacks with us.

If (as seems likely) he's released in the summer, I would hope that a left footed CB that's good on the ball would be on the list of players to bring in.

Really felt for him when he got injured prior to the world cup, Nakayama's a pretty good player but players who spend lots of time out through injury are no good to anyone.

A real shame for lad.
Has he just been unlucky (he was with Hogg’s rash challenge) or is he simply not robust enough for the championship ?

Technology, who needs it...

He also scored a really good header from a corner very early on in the season. As someone with close links to Japan, I've really wanted Yuta to do well, but unfortunately he has struggled for various reasons. The injury before the World Cup was massive, but even before that, he was inconsistent and never really looked like an international for a nation in the world's top 20. The 'not robust enough for the Championship' label is an easy one to put on foreign players who don't make an impact, but in Yuta's case, I think there is an element of that. Despite his clear ability on the ball, Warnock was very reluctant to play him when he came back from injury as he knew he could be bullied. A big shame he has got injured again at the time the new manager has come in. I was hoping to see him kick on in a new look back three alongside Balker. I think he'll be off in the summer and will probably go back to Holland or somewhere similar, at which point my profile picture will revert back to the 301 bus!

Wasn't his snapped achilles through another Town player catching him too. Was definitely a freak injury where someone landed on the back of his leg. Just can’t recall if it was our player or opposition
