Club has rightly come in for a lot of stick recently..
However..
The almost finished Johnny Hogg mural looks amazing..
A fitting tribute to a true town legend..
Well done all concerned..
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Or is he bollocking someone for their part in conceding a goal that was largely his fault?

The perfect CDM when you have more technical midfielders around him.

You can pick holes in Hoggy's football sometimes but not his loyalty, commitment and character.
There are too few like him in the game.

First name on the team sheet throughout his career says it all. Biggest illustration of the man’s character in my opinion was when he played under Corberan who as we know, liked to change formations during the game. On many occasions I witnessed Carlos giving Hoggy the sign and within seconds he affected the change on the pitch. If you are in a battle - who else would you have wanted on your side in the past 10 years.

His contract is up in six months - will be interesting to see what happens: Stay on with reduced terms / role? Play next season elsewhere? Go full time with his carp pond?

Absolute legend! I've never seen a player give more than Hoggy has for Huddersfield. My mind always goes back to the PL away game at Wolves when he just made the game his, absolutely controlled it for us from start to finish. He's been the first name on the teamsheet for every manager we've had, and there's been a lot! Every player we've had respects him despite those "bollockings" he dishes out, likely because they see the passion he has. Surely he gets another contract and sees out his days with us. The two most rated for me in Wagner and Corberan had both hinted that was the plan. Just found this article on the subject of his contract. www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/sport/football/huddersfield-town-v-bristol-city-jonathan-hogg-on-his-future-darren-moore-and-no-plans-to-slow-down-4439523

Hoggs been a superb player for us. Hes a club legend. In terms of the price we paid and what weve had from him, possibly the best signing weve made in the post WWII era.
By nice if he stayed and became part of the coaching set up when he gives up playing..which maybe isnt too far away now.

And if I see another "first name on the team sheet" comment - bloody hell hasn't anyone else thought that might have been a big part of our problems? Let me be clear, I don't think he's shit or anything - I just don't think he's that good - especially now - certainly not so good that no-one can have the audacity to micky take a bit. I think he's a great bloke and I admire how he has absolutely made the most of fairly basic ability. But, without a Mooy or an O'Brien next to him, he's been the constant of multiple really poor midfield units.

I hope I'm not that good to play 65 times in the prem and nigh on 300 times in the championship. Mooy and O'Brien wouldn't have looked half as good without Hogg next to them.

Sorry, utter nonsense You don’t play 300+ games at premier league and championship level with ‘fairly basic ability’ His game has adapted, Wagner took his game to another level. Of course he has some limitations - But you’re mistaking a fancy turn, showboating with ability and a basic lack of understanding of the fundamentals of football - beyond his obvious attribute, positioning, reading, speed of thought etc. He looks as fit as anyone in the squad, he’s got a few more years in him yet - hopefully he won’t have to start 3 games every week in 2 years at 37 or our recruitment really has failed. He’s the constant as aside Mooy (one of the best players to ever wear a town shirt) & O’Brien he’s been better than anyone else. Rudoni hopefully may challenge that statement

Noone should question Hoggy's contribution to our club, the man has been superb for us over so many years, a real rarity in the modern game.
It's not his fault now that he is having to play so much, the club have let him down because, at this stage in his career, he should be winding down, be sub more often than not, coming on to close matches out & looking at what he wants to do next. Instead, the way the club has recruited over the last few years is extremely incredibly disappointing & has resulted in him having to play because we still look so much worse without him.

Hogg has been great but Jimmy Nicholson cost £7500 I think and was streets ahead of Hogg imho Before my time was Nicholson so cant comment on him, but id always thought he was more of an attacking midfielder with mcGill playing the tenacious 'ratter' role that Hogg does? Have I got that wrong, it was a few years before I started going? Quite similar records . Nicholson was here 10 years and almost entirely in 2nd tier except 2 season in top flight...same as Hogg. Not sure how £7500 in 1963 compares to the fee we paid for Hogg in 2013 ( £400k ??) in terms of expense for the club. the quality of the football has moved on so much from the 60s and 70s , as have the pitches, I dont think its fair to compare players ability wise. But I think iwhen you consider the sums of money that get thrown about these days, then what we spent on Hogg and the fact hes been practically the first name on the team sheet for over 10 years, under lots of different managers, makes him a real stand out player over the decades for this club.

Jimmy was the player of the Home Internationals one year, playing for Northern Ireland while he was at Town. A feat that I don't think we will see replicated by another Town player (if they were still being played that is).
