He's been a good player for Town but all good thing's must come to an end. He's here, he's there, he's every ------- where Johnny Hogg, Johnny Hogg.

Matty Pearson was talked about in a past tense a few weeks ago too, they may not be as quick as they used to be but you can bet you know you've been tackled after they clobber you & leave their mark.....Don't dismiss Hoggy or Lees just yet folks.

He's been paid £££ beyond the dreams of most on here. But no one should doubt his commitment, or his ability, despite that. Bring back Nick.

Decent pro but if he’s one of our greatest ever players .. Well like I said, each to their own.

I don't think we have seen the last of the general yet.

I don't think we have seen the last of the general yet. Me neither, and he will be an integral part of the squad. But Hodge has energy and takes the ball from the back, turns and can pass. He has the shirt for me going forward. Not every game but we need legs and energy plus vision.

I don't think we have seen the last of the general yet. Nor should we - it’s an evolution and needs doing but he still has a part to play on the field. Duff praised him earlier - we need him to nurture and bring the likes of Iorpenda thru starting hopefully on tues night. High time some of the young guns put real pressure on the first team with some strong trophy performances.

So we can win without him after all A sly shot at one of our greatest ever players, but well done, you. That is an absolutely incredible statement. Ridiculous as well. I'd struggle to name more than 1 season, maybe 2, (in 11 seasons?) he's been our best midfielder never mind one of our greatest ever players. Incredible.

If Hodģe and Kasumu are fit, Hogg is cover on the bench. Its a squad game and Hogg on the bench is a pretty good replacement or someone to bring on if its a difficult last 20 etc..

Nice comments about Hoggy by Duff. Hodge looked to do his groin today, I think Hoggy be back v soon That would be a blow, he has two tough games coming up with the Irish U21 team so he will need to 100% for those & I guess they get too assess him also. Under 21 players called up have to have started 3 out of the five previous club games (Or 25% of total season) to be counted in a postponement......With the JK injury now we do not qualify, but Leyton Orient do for this month.

I know all that, I was trying to point it out to whoever I replied to In fact Islam has a much more believable take on Jesus (Issa to Muslims); that he's just a prophet, not the son of god. And he's definitely not the Messiah, he's a very naughty boy Imagine being just a prophet and not actually the son of God. 2000 years of fuss over just a prophet If he makes a prophet, does that mean God is a capitalist?

A sly shot at one of our greatest ever players, but well done, you. A good servant..but “greatest ever players.” Really? Of course, currently 14th in number of games played. Played in Prem with distinction. Captained the side for years. I'm not saying he has matched Pirlo, but for Town, he MUST be up there.

Has there been any confirmation whether he is / isn’t having a testimonial game etc?

Of the modern era, then Hogg definitely is one of our greatest players ( modern era being post WWII) A mainstay for a decade which coincided with the most successful period the clubs had in the 2nd half of its history. Hes well past his best and we should have replaced him by now as a starter, but its sad when town fans disrespect him IMO.

Think testimonials now should be to acknowledge the players service, but also to raise funds for a charity, not the player...so tax wouldn't be such an issue.
Long gone are the days when a player needed the money to buy a pub...if theyve spent much time in the top couple of divisions anyway.
Maybe theyre a thing of the past but it's a shame Hoggs not had one. Quite rare a player does 10 seasons these days.

Has there been any confirmation whether he is / isn’t having a testimonial game etc? I read over a year ago that there was a possibility of this taking place this summer before the start of the season, involving the players and staff that were here when we achieved our PL promotion. Brilliant idea to not only allow us to pay homage to Hogg but a moment in our history, we’ll never forget. Not heard a thing since then so can only guess that because of the turmoil in the last 12 months , plans had to be shelved.

Thanks for this thought there was some mention of it and that Hoggy had to arrange it himself due to tax implications (?) for the club but then nothing since. Shame nothing arranged - feel 10+ years at a club deserves some recognition at least whatever your thoughts are on him.

I think the last testimonial I went to was for Dick Taylor and Peter Fletcher v Forest 1983 ish. They needed the money when their careers were ended due to injury. Different thing now, especially with the cost of living crisis and Hoggy being a very well paid servant. (Oops said it again.)
