Comparing us to Newcastle is an exaggeration, but I take the point. No need for battles on here, but I won't see another pile on again, regardless of who it is on. Except Townrwe. He can do one. It's a comparison. They played with a style that meant they would always score goals but always concede goals. That's exactly what I saw today. I'm not comparing Koroma to Ginola. I'm comparing similarities in styles. That kind of approach today, if we took that into every game we would be expecting high scoring games. It's simply a comparison. I'm not even going to go into the other person. I blocked him ages ago but somehow when he quotes me I still see it. If I see it I'll call it out. Still can't tell me where the insults were though 👍

Takes Kasumu, Hogg and Matos off on 87 mins. I’m assuming they were all injured at same time! Well Kasumu had already been down with cramp. Matos has had his game-time restricted in every match he’s played so far, to the point where today is the longest he’s been on the field before being subbed. Hogg’s getting on in age now, but will probably have run well in excess of 10k and be top of the distance stats. They were all out on their feet, so Worthy put some fresh legs on - which is something that Darren Snore was consistently accused of not doing. What would you have done at 4-3 down with an extended injury time to come - bearing in mind the midweek match to come?

Difference is JW still went for it regardless. Genuine question... if DM was still in charge, how do you think k he would have set up today, especially without Balker and Helik? If Moore had taken charge of today, do you think he'd have been praised or slated for chucking away a 2-0 lead? No way we would have scored 2. I can't remember scoring 2 away under Moore ever. I might be wrong.

Conceding FIVE second-half goals is relegation standard. You'd rather be bored shitless, stick 10 men behind the ball and lose 3 0 anyway? At 2 goals up there is another way to play the game rather than sitting on your keepers knee or overplaying in your own half looking to get forward. We committed both deadly sins and conceeded 5 goals in 45 minutes. Id have expected it under Moore, not so much with Worthington. Without straight replacements for Lees and Hogg etc it was going to get harder as the game went on, to allow 2 goals in as many minutes early doors 2nd half was the problem, not the hard last 10. Happy enough to go forward without a recognised centre forward, we do better without one, thats a positive but one or two of us did say so a long while ago. Its the hope at 2 0 and 2 3 up that can kill you, deep down you sort of know its false.

What did we get from the game today Zero points. Great entertainment. Shows how we can play if we try to win. In spite of the loss we can all (apart from someone in Cyprus) see that DM has been holding the team back. We look like we could be fitter. We don't have the strength in depth or the quality that Southampton do. Subs could have been made earlier. I was proud to support Town today and I have not been able to say that much with DM in charge. We have been in a long decline since Dean was ill, it will take some time to stop the decline in quality we have at the club and replace the older players in the squad. Exactly this. Good man yourself!

So why, Einstein, are you the only person in the world that has the goalie in the formation or do you think any team that plays 442 are only playing with 10 men 🙄 Jesus fucking wept, you lot on here are so defensive when it comes to your Team? The team that caved in after 45 mi utes Go and watch a Cypriot team.

Expected result, but unexpected performance and scoreline.
Sounds like we played really well and did something we haven't done enough of this season - made the opposition uncomfortable and gave them a real scare.
We were always likely to lose this match, so to come out of it on the back of a good performance and three goals scored should give the whole squad confidence that they can take this form forwards.
Its great to see so much positivity despite the result. Town feel like they are in a better place than they were a week or so ago. It feels like our destiny is more in our own hands.

442, 352, 433, 532 all football systems. All add up to the same number and it's not the same as 55fucking1 Wasting your time. Like that Portuguese fuckwit some people are so sad to only come on here to wind genuine posters up. Can’t leave it alone can you !

From a Southampton season ticket holder:
Huddersfield were fantastic and pushed us all the way . They played a 3 4 3 and attacked throughout the game, you would of been proud of them. No way will you go down, the difference was our bench which was very strong . Cracking game

Therw has been a wide spectrum of comments from the incorrect, naive and disloyal at one end to the almost gung-ho at the other. I'm much aligned towards the optimistic end. The players gave their all, and were totally physically as well as psychologically knackered well before the end.
As others have a remarked, Town were beaten by a squad (intentional word) much deeper in skill, fitness and experience than Town's. Their substitute's made all the difference. There's no way we could offer that, I'm afraid, and that comes with years of recruitment and (let's be honest) lots of money. Saints just about deserved to win, but THEY WON IT, Town didn't lose it.
This was perhaps Jonny Hogg's last hurrah, and he was magnificent, playing further up the pitch for a while. Jack Rudoni was also excellent, winning every header, and competing alongside his captain. If his decision -making in front of goal were better,he would be a Premier League player.
But all of them played well, with my only criticism being of Lee Nichols' terrible time wasting. Embarrassing.
Even the referee, Mr Webb, contributed a lot to the match, not helped by his assistants being not up the job.
The Town fans were in great voice, especially as they could be excused for being stunned.
A very enjoyable match, despite the loss. I hope those in a position of power in the club can realise that Town need a manager prepared to play attacking football. Against worse sides than Saints (and most are) such a strategy would be successful.
You never know, next season Town could be the team otherwise want to beat! Perhaps a decent striker with pace, a CH with pace (shame Balker was available today), and a left back, would enable a team starting to realise is potential actually take everyone by surprise.
Proud today!

No way will you go down, the difference was our bench which was very strong . Cracking game I was just reading one of their forums and they are very complimentary of our performance. Multiple comments saying we were the best team to visit their stadium this season, other than Leicester. This team can play, they were brilliant today. I love the way we were getting in front of their players in the first half to win the ball back quickly rather than sitting off, reminded me of the early wagner days in that respect.

By the way, Saints fans were mightily impressed by Town's attitude and commitment today.
Living near Southampton, I know what they're like, and they can miserable sods, but today they recognised they were lucky to escape. Fair play to them.

After so much dour fayre, that was top class entertainment. Best Saturday afternoon I’ve had out in a long while. Really proud of the lads today. Always likely Saints would pick us off but just fantastic to see us pressing the ball. Sorba was outstanding. Southampton had real quality and their bench was the difference. Long time since we’ve been beaten and I’ve left a ground with a smile on my face. UTT

Don’t mind losing games when we show fight and passion like that.
Not like what we’ve seen recently where we just lay down and get shafted.
Really proud of the boys today and the difference for me was the saints depth of quality coming off the bench.
Thanks for injecting some passion and fight back into the lads worthy
Up them terriers 💪

My worry is the two centre forwards we signed look poor. Bojan was brought on 15 mins too late today. He's still adapting for sure, but is good with the ball at his feet and can press quite well, so I think he would've been suited to the game, and was the better replacement for Koroma rather than Jones. By the time he came on we didn't have the energy or quality to get the ball to him. Healey looks like a real grafter to me and I think would've also suited the game.

My worry is the two centre forwards we signed look poor. My worry is that neither of them have pace. Both look to have decent attributes as individuals, but wouldn't seem a natural pairing
