If he decides he is not up for the job we have wasted 2 weeks and have to start looking for a replacement. Just not a process we needed to go through. Nagle did say they had a contingency so I reckon they would be able to move reasonably quickly if AB said no. Probably still take a few weeks to talk to and agree terms with the new manager. I can’t imagine they’ve done that already and told him it’s all off if Andre eventually calls and says, “OK, I’ll hang about for a bit then”. The new manage will then have to evaluate the players, decide who he wants to bring in and at some point shortly before the season kicks off mould them into a team.

And do we then wait for the new manager to decide which players we keep and which we release and which he wants to sign? Or does Mark Cartwright decide for him? I would guess that would be the only way forward. We have to get ready and time is of the essence.

Or you have no idea about business and things aren’t as simple as you think? I was a shareholder and director in a business actually so yes I do. I’d have given AB until a day after the Ipswich game to make a decision because we were relegated the week before Judging by what Kevin has said that's pretty much the timescale he gave him. Problem is he seems to have ignored the deadline. Seems to me he's gone but just trying to get the best settlement.

There was a question from Dave to KN, asking him if he fully understood what relegation means to the fans. He said he did and it hurts. However, KN wasn't around in the '70s when Huddersfield Town were relegated to the third tier for the first time. Of course it got worse and a few years later we were struggling at the bottom of the basement division. These scars from the '70s will never heal and being relegated this time, just brings it all back to me.

Is it true that Andre is buggering off home to Germany most weeks leaving the players to take a very laissez faire attitude to training and preparation? If it is true (and assuming AB stays on as manager) will this continue to be the case? If I was paying the manager's salary I would demand an absolute commitment to the club i.e. relocating to somewhere within easy reach of HD1; Wagner managed it so we know it can be done.

But there is the added bonus of being able to go to Shrewsbury. the fish n chip shop near the ground is the finest I have ever tasted. (note: well it was about 20 years ago)

I'd driven up from Hereford. It could have been the Warnock bollocking game... it absolutely poured it down. We lost 2-1. I didn't feel like fish and chips after that.

Thats the only time I ever went there as well. same game. I had my fish before the game though. I just did a check of google maps and I do not think it exists anymore.

Sorry to be negative but... Whilst it's appreciated that Kevin communicates with us and I like the bloke, it just feels to me that there's not much substance to the diary; limited specifics: We don't know how he's loaning/gifting the club Who the manager is (granted he can't do much about that before this diary) No idea what our transfer budget is No clear update on where we are with the academy. What academy level are we even aiming for?We are investing behind the scenes, but in what? Better analytics (like Brentford and Brighton)? The best in class heads of ages in the academy? How are the results going to change with the academy under KN's chairmanship? What's the plan? Just having an academy didn't work for us before. Why are we investing in Canalside but not buying it? Would that affect our budget in league one and so we want to hold off the process? I don't think we got many answers. It's been stated publicly and discussed on here that the Academy will be Cat 3. Basically that means all the age groups from U9's. Everything hasn't been formally confirmed and approved by the EFL as yet. The club are expecting this to be Mid-Late May. But everything sounds positive and is pointing towards it all being approved. I would imagine the club will release more details once official confirmation is received. The started the trials over the Easter holiday. They need to sign 130+ kids by early August. Lot's of kids coming in for trials who have been released by other Academy, plus grassroots players. Historically the Academy has worked reasonably well. Lot's of players have been produced over the years that have played in our first team or that have gone on to other clubs and being successful. It's now the job of Jon Worthington and others to produce more players and better players over the coming years. Not easy, but with the right investment and management can be done. I can confirm this as my boss' cousin (thought he was just a mate's son in my previous post about him) Hassan took part in a "mass" intake recently and has been signed up. Cheeky git though; just been dropped by Sadford's academy for being too short, watched the Swansea game with the other "intakes" and said "I could get in that defence NOW"
