Absolutely woeful.. as bad, if not worse than under Moore. Not a chance we will be back in the championship any time soon. 3 wins covered some serious deficiency in our squad and now we are left with a squad seriously underpowered again. Feel sorry for Kev.... his advisors are killing him and splashing his green on some right donkeys. It must be lovely for you now we look to be struggling. You just love any excuse to have a go. I bet when we start getting back in our stride, and we will under Duff, we don’t see a feather of your tail. Duff has made mistakes in the last three games. He has suddenly gone negative. The two wingbacks are playing deeper which naturally means the whole team is deeper. The press has gone, although Koroma and Marshall worked their socks off. Wiles and Evans were so far apart they needed Google maps to find each other. The defenders just hoofed it down field to nobody. Why has Duff done this ? Because he knows we have no pace in the back three so it’s to protect them. Which comes down to lack of investment in that area. Which comes down to Cartwright and Nagle. It’s a viscous circle.

We spent money on balker and spencer returned ftom loan dunc......theyre injured! The press has gone because between them for the last 2 games wiles evans and hogg have been shite. Also we have plan a - wing backs fwd. Sadly teams are allowed to counteract it. Evans is no mug - he did just that. Press everyone in a blue shirt except helik and just wait for him to give it us back. We were pitiful for long spells today - and this after a shocker on tues night. Duff then produced a shocker of a tactical decision playing wiles up top late on - he was dreadful all afternoon and ive seen more mobility in a slug. Only nicholls, miller, lees, marshall and koroma come out with any credit imho - and when 6 + subs are poor you dont win many. No need to panic yet though.....time for duff to show his credentials now - lots of games coming up and we go again midweek.

I'm still confused by the striker calls from so many on here. If we weren't creating chances or scoring goals I could understand but we are scoring goals and are creating chances. The issue seems to be the crap defending, the poor decision making in possession and the lack of support for the player on the ball. Negative comments about Marshall's age despite him grabbing 2 already. I remember a raw Leon Knight ripping it up in this league before. Age is nothing. Ability is what counts Duff seems to have dropped the team lower, probably because of the lack of pace at the back exposed time and time again even in the first game. the injuries already weakening the squad depth but I don't see a striker changing that. We've signed fairly well in the direction Nagle specified when he took over (being self sustainable) and we've started fairly well despite the last 2 disappointments. If you want to watch winning entertaining football EVERY game you're watching at the wrong level. It's a long season and the players need the support in the bad moments as well as the good. Not fucking swap them at any sign of weakness.

After initially slating Hogg for the winner I take some of it back. Miller was just as poor by first leaving his man making Hogg go over, and then ambling back and all but stopping rather than busting a gut.

Referees are getting worse absolutely no doubt about that but they don't seem to get any help from any other of the officials. Wrong! What is happening is that we are now in L1 and starting to find out how much poorer the officials are down here!

Best player on the pitch today but don’t let that get in the way of a bizarre rant…based on some of the rhetoric in your post I have a sneaking suspicion about what else underlies your animosity towards him but ‘I’ll pass on that’ for now and conclude with I ‘don’t think there’s much hope with you on the educational front’ either. Koroma by a mile was our best player on the pitch by a country mile. That defeat was down to duff. Stupid decision taking him off and playing with zero strikers. I half wonder if manager was trying to make a point? Ref was corrupt and inept 😡

Koroma was cramping up according to the after match interview. He'd run his socks off.

Objectively... Sorensen had a handful of shirt and made the referee make a decision by getting wrong side.
Ward deserved his red card.
Duff hasn't learned from the cross field aerial bombardment we endured at Walsall and we didn't win second balls again.
It's no wonder we lost. We deserved to.
We just have to hope Duff learns from this and certain players- I'm looking at yoi Ben Wiles - learn from this and stop playing like absolute vaginas

In hindsight I bet Duff would’ve played Kasumu and Hogg yesterday if he could have done, we got bullied in the middle. Something we’re going to have to work out how to counter against certain teams this season.

I do also have to say, I think Duffs treatment is harsh. Had his hands absolutely tied with having to put Hogg in every week. Kasumu out for 6 weeks, Kane out for 6-8 weeks, Hodge only came in the other day.
Iorpenda is the only one for me, I know he’s young but if you’re good enough you’re old enough. Put some faith in him instead of the fossilised Hogg. He is quite simply killing the team

Ward, from where the ref was viewing, deserved the red. Stupid challenge and even if viewed from any other angle it definitely deserved a yellow. Never mind he can take his frustrations out on a golf ball for the next three weeks (all the while picking what's reputed to be the top wage in the dressing room).

Made the mistake of watching the highlights. I was so pissed off with Hogg at the game yesterday after that winning goal, and even more so now I've rewatched it.
Yes we've been done by two horrific decisions but Hoggs defending for that winner is inexcusable. Absolutely no attempt to show Wilks down the line onto his weak foot, just charges towards him without noticing Wilks has slowed down to cut inside Hogg, which he does with absolute ease. Proper amateur defending. Has to be Hodge in from the start for the next game.

It's a foul on Sorenson if anything.

I was at the match and have just forced myself to watch the highlights. A few observations;
The penalty situation is beyond ridiculous now. That’s FIVE conceded in the last 11 games, all of them ranging from highly debatable to absolutely scandalous. It’s just not a red card, end of. How the fuck did Lees not score? As good as he’s been, Hogg has surely reached the end of the road now as a starter. Nigel looks good on the ball. Awful start (assume not match fit) but grew into the game. An amazing save from Nicolls first half, but he was poor for the winner. Koroma has set the standard now. If he adds consistency to his game, he can stand out in L1. Town are going to have to sign an out of contract striker and just hope it comes off. I can’t see a finish much beyond mid table at the moment.

If you want to watch winning entertaining football EVERY game you're watching at the wrong level. It's a long season and the players need the support in the bad moments as well as the good. Not fucking swap them at any sign of weakness. The reasons strikers matter is they give the opposition something to worry about. When we have no threat there they can afford to put more pressure onto our midfielders which in turn means we will hold and pass backwards more as less space to move in and less options for a forward ball. This in turn makes the defenders have to work harder and inevitably make mistakes. You make a good point with Leon Knight as he had great pace and that meant he had the ability to create chances off very little as at this level defenders are slow. We have no real pace upfront so that’s not an option. Koroma is working hard but his finishing still needs work and he was cramping up before being taken off so you realise Ward is the only forward fit enough to play a full 90 minutes and that’s probably the biggest issue. That was why I personally really wanted a striker as teams know we drop off after about 70/80 mins and I think that’s probably why we are conceding so many late goals as they know they need to keep going til then and will get opportunities

Down to ten men surely Hogg stays central & the two wing backs drop off........One argument would be why isn't one of the CB's coming across to help out, by-line or cutting inside?

This club is a sick joke. Why Written in the heat of the moment. A moment where a club that was in the Premier League five years ago is losing to Rotherham in the third tier with a midfielder on his own up front. Sorry, my friend, if you think that you follow a well run club you are entitled to your opinion. But equally, I am entitled to mine. I have no faith in Kevin Nagle. As I said at one point yesterday, after three transfer windows we still have Josh Koroma and Danny Ward up front. If that isn't incompetence, delusion or complacency then I don't know what is, I'm settling for probably all 3. I'd love to think that better days lie ahead; after 57 years I'm just a bit tired.

Apologies to Josh for my earlier post. I broke my golden rule - don't post when under the influence. He's still a frustrating player to watch but it's good to know he's getting his head up more and is starting to realise some of his potential.

Don't know if it's been mentioned, but the rotherham forwards kept splitting, marking Lees and Lonwijk trying to stop the balls out to them, leaving Helik with the freedom of Rotherham.
He often literally had acres to bring the ball out of defence or for one of our midfield / strikers to drop into the space to accept the ball.
We never made use of this space from my recollection.
We need to be able to mix up our play, rather than always looking for the ball out to the wide cb to then cross field pass it etc we could have easily played through the centre with a better ball playing cdm.
