Me neither Paul. I couldnt care less tbh. Im just astonished at how its been pushed through without any proper details/consultation/vote. As for the posters calling people debating the decision morons and that they should get a life? Jesus wept, give your head a shake...

Agreed about the sniping, but it was a very important decison to make and a lot of money at stake which has now gone or will be gone shortly.
Assume the HTSA coffers are now empty?

I'm going to stick my head on the block here and ask everyone who has a question regarding the memorabilia/statue to pm me with it. I know you have said them all in this thread and the previous one, but this way it will be a lot easier to collate them all and try to get them answered. There has been a meeting arranged with the Directors next Friday afternoon, and we can try to get your questions answered. There are so many the committee cannot answer i.e. the legal paperwork and what plan does Dean Hoyle have in place if things don't work out for the best internally at the club. they are things that at the moment only the club have the answers to, we are not witholding anything from you the fans, we just cannot answer them honestly and properly. Once the meeting is over and I have the time (I do have an actual job and a life too) I will post every question and answer on here for everyone to see.
Also, we have a committee meeting on Thursday 10th March at the Canalside starting at 7.30pm. You are more than welcome to come along and join in and maybe get an insight into the hard work we do and also have your say. If you want your questions/views/opinions minuted they will be. Come join us!!

Apathy among the members? At least some of us ARE members and have had our say via email only to get shot down by certain people on here when we repeat our opinions. I do feel sorry for the committee members, thankless job with an issue like this, and as for joining the committee, I thought there'd been an influx of newer, younger people recently. However words like 'friggin' and 'utter morons' are way out of order and ought to be retracted. £41,500 for a statute of ? which will no doubt get trashed when our friends down the road learn about it. Marshian ?? I never really thought of any other meaning of the word frigging than this definition. FRIGGING ::: A temporary modification to a piece of equipment to change the way it operates (usually away from as originally designed)

Hmm well my understanding of the word is somewhat ruder but maybe I've just got a dirty mind re the monies collected at the time we went into admin, I have a recollection that about £50,000 was also given to the Administrator to pay the office & other staff to keep the place running over summer (which I had no problems with at the time)

Scissett::: Sian came on here the day after and repeated what she had been told the day before re: non-members being on facebook. Members only being notified wasn't the final decision... Myself coming on here and all supporters possible having a say was. If the decision had have been made earlier Sally would have told Sian to put it out on facebook.

As for posters saying 'Jesus wept' - that's blasphemy so get a life I'm obviously takin some stick for the use of te term 'utter morons'. This may seem OTT but if it is read corrctly it is in follow up to Bro's post re: people questioning Dean Hoyles motives. Anyone who can question his motives is indeed a moron IMO, Also, many of the nay sayers on here, why not, if you are so inclined, join the HTSA committee and put your case forward from the inside. You all may have valid points but when you do nothig about it other than moan on here it does seem a little 'bitchy'. Stand up and be counted, you may well change things positively!!

Far from it Marshian... This season HTSA have invested what profits it could have accrued back into sponsoring players and the academy. Committee members now believe that the step to sell the memorabilia is an investment into Dean Hoyles attempts to better the club and a lifeline into somewhere HTSA can raise even more funds to invest back into HTAFC. AND IT WAS £60.000 the supporters trust paid the administrators . A figure that Paul Haigh had been told he would have to pay if he was successful but Davy never? ?

Thanks Bro, I am certainly not questioning Deano's motives at all, where would we be without him?
Not being very well up on how committees operate, and exactly what information should be imparted to members, that has at least reassured me a bit that there are still monies available especially as the annual fee is pretty low anyway and HTSA won't raise much money from that!
Also the price of the coach travel is incredibly cheap.

How then has HTSA come to the conclusion that they should sell memorabilia? as i said on the last thread, HTSA should take a step back and sort out what the deal actually is with dean then consult and vote. if this had been done and the vote of the membership was to sell there would be no criticism of HTSA isntead HTSA have skipped over all this and not put all the information out and rushed it through. what makes it worse is i think HTSA have had plenty of time to rethink and handle if differently rather than forcing it though

I was a member but no longer following the high handed manner that saw the purchase of the sodding stuff. Having spent monies without a proper democratic vote in the first place made me good and mad. Having bought the sodding stuff a miniscule amount of people belonging to an association that says it represents Town fans!! now decide to sell them without a proper consultation with their ? 800 or so members? ? This affair has been so badly handled all along and this latest decision just compounds a situation that I can not reconcile myself to. Dean Holye is welcome to the sodding stuff Me my feelings and frustrations end here apart from this p.s Can We have our £££££ `s back that we contributed?? Sorry what was that?? You voted and say NO. Sandy Message from Mids I've no problem with anyone having an opinion, and least of all yourself as you usually stick to your guns at least. I mentioned you in that piece this morning as you complained when they were bought, and now you're complaining that they're being sold - to effectively get the situation back to square one. If I misinterpreted your concerns then I apologise. I also apologise for my part in the original purchase if it upset you, but as you're well aware this latest debacle is out of my hands. I was simply adding my two penneth to the debate. When I was Chairman everything I did i did with the best of intentions. Clearly nobody can ever please everyone all of the time. Seems I can have an opinion Back to Top Logged

Yes and we've got some lovely stewards on the coaches. You raised her well.. Joking aside though. HTSA have recently took on a new influx of Committee members who i believe will eventually turn their fortunes around. Sally, Janeo and Shawsie have all added new ideas and fresh impetus to the association. This could though have also been a large factor in what went wrong with the memorabilia process.. We lost Mids early in the new year and Andyfcuk had to succumb to work commitments having started so brightly. Communication wasn't what it should have been and the decision making process was too slow... I'm sure most of the Committee would apologize if they could but instead some of them have become disenchanted and confused at the way things turned out. I hope we can get through this without any casualties on the committee but only time will tell.

Not an "insider" or an expert on these matters but this is my memory of how this came about: 1) The club went bust at the end of 02/03 season 2) Donations were collected (including from myself) to "save the club" - that's the original £40k (ish) 3) for a variety of reasons these funds were not given directly to the club - as I and other that I spoke to at the time felt that they ought to have been. 4) A long period of distrust between the supporters club (by any other name) and the then owner precluded any movement of the funds.... 5) the memorabilia came up for sale and was eventually purchased by the supporters club, who now have ownership of said memorabilia. Hope this clarifies the situation and doesn't start another series of bullets flying UTT thanks. So..... in my opinion this memorabilia shouldn't be sold unless there is an emergency (ie, club goes into admin and needs money again etc etc). Why isn't it loaned indefinately to the club to display?? We all know Deano wants what's best for the club but he won't be in charge forever....the 'perfect person' comes in and takes over and a few years later we could have another Rubery situation......it's start from scratch again then

Haven't decided on a chairperson as of yet. The new season looks the best opportunity and (don't laugh) we can look to start turning things around.
