Why do HTSA consider themselves representative of all town fans? They have a smallish number of members and seem to do a good job organising away days travel for those fans who go to the away games, good on those fans that do Sorry but apart from this and an arranging p*ss ups and sing songs during travel they do nothing for the majority of town fans Perhaps they should think about renaming themselves because I`m a supporter and they do nothing for me I wouldn`t want their job for a pension but they obviously do mad buggers Unbelievable- HTSA do not arrange the p*ss ups and sing songs but why not join us and enjoy yourself?

Thank you one and all for debating Grandads and Dads Memorabilia. It has confirmed to us Smiths that we DID make the right choice in selling to HTSA rather than some unknowns! Our main hope now is that you will all enjoy this truely wonderful collection asap.To see only a small part of this on display at Preston was one of the best moments of my life. I feel embarrassed that you've had to read this thread. I'm with HTSA, Mids, Bro and all the others who feel comfortable in trusting the memorabilia to Deano. Some people on this thread just like the look of their own words and maybe should consider taking up train-spotting instead of watching football. I don`t feel at all bothered by the Smiths reading this thread.

I am not, and never have been against the sale of the memorabilia to Dean. I am however upset that HTSA can take a decision to sell something worth 40k upwards without asking its members. I am upset that the memorabilia was sold at 'face value', my house was worth 120k two years ago, if I wanted to sell it tomorrow I'd have to get it valued again, I couldn't just expect 'face value' for it. I am very upset that HTSA don't know if the 40+k has to be ploughed into a statue. If it does then to me that is wrong. The money should be available for 10, 20, 30 years down the line. This isn't distrusting Dean in any way, its just a better option for the money rather than losing it to a lump of metal. People say go on the committee then, if I had the time I would, I would speak to HTSA about my concerns, but nobody seems to know the answers to my questions. I'll carry on watching football if it's ok by you? I won't stop having an opinion about a group of which I'm a member if that's also ok with you?

Well to be fair, you mentioned people you agreed with but failed to mention people directly who should ' look at their own words' so assumptions have to be made!!
Anyhow can I have my thirty pounds back as I donated that as part of a survival fund not to go and waste on a what will be intrinsically worthless statue (or whatever). Dean Hoyle buys something for x pounds - fair enough. But why is it seemlingly been dictated to what the money must be spent on?

Galpharmer::: my house was worth 120k two years ago, if I wanted to sell it tomorrow I'd have to get it valued again, I couldn't just expect 'face value' for it. What would your house be worth if it was made available to use by anyone who wished and then it was going to be given back into a shared interest when whoever bought it retired or moved on??? Scissett:: You state that Dean wouldn't sign it ?? Are you sure? He bought into Huddersfield Town didn't he? He ploughed £41000 + into Storthes Hall within 5 minutes of being chairman all for the sake of Huddersfield Town. Even Dean admits he's taking risks with his own childrens heritage...I can't believe for the life in me that people can't invest in the blokes vision. HTSA MADE A BIG MESS OF THIS "GRANTED" But if we'd have gone through the proper channels the outcome would more than likely have been the same. Would getting the memorabilia valued and charging Dean Hoyle an extra £5000 make any difference when any profit HTSA makes gets ploughed back into sponsoring players or The Academy?? Doesn't that go into the same pot? I bet Dean reads this sometimes and thinks "why do i ever bother?" because i do and it costs me naff all. Bar that is a massive phone bill and travelling costs to meetings.

I also get your point that the amount of cash you get for the stuff is really irrelevant, it just comes across as a bit daft, selling something but not knowing how much for, as committee members have said on here. The main question for me still hasn't been answered which is the statue issue and how much is HTSA expected to plough into the project, if at all. I shall let it lie now though, I realise you all do this for next to knack all, with very little thanks, especially from people like me :udders:

I can tell you and it is in this thread and the previous memorabilia thread. The statue project was 1st raised with HTSA in 2009 and some sort of funding was brought up with the Committee and there was agreement that it was possible. So some sort of funding was agreed. The memorabilia proposal was raised in October 2010 and the statue project was brought up in that proposal. As Mids added in this thread ..The statue may not even happen but the club have said that ALL SUPPORTERS will be asked their opinions should it ever come into fruition. The proposal involves the whole of the memorabilia amount and Dean personally will make up the shortfall. I've wondered from day one why the two were ever put together in that way? If Dean Hoyle (The Club) had asked to buy the memorabilia i think most supporters would have been ok with that.. and then if Dean (the club) would have asked HTSA (supporters organizations) to contribute to a statue we could have raised that amount anyhow. STRANGE...

Can it be written in somehow (I know nothing about contracts etc) that if Deano gives the memorabilia to the club it can not be transferred to any future owner (ala stadium shares) or will it always be considered an assett of the clubs and as such saleable in the event of administration.
If the latter is the case then surely its better to be owned by Deano so no future leeches can sell it

HTSA have a meeting next week regarding the memorabilia and will be asking if the memorabilia will be in something similar. I honestly don't believe Dean will leave anything unsecured when he decides enough is enough.

Is there any truth in the rumour that the statue is going to be of Jimmymac?
