I don't have any problem with Town fans wanting to stand up at matches, my only problem is if they are 'sat' right in front of me !
In an exciting game, fans are going to be 'up and down' more often than in a boring game...but within that some fans get more 'excited' than others, and leap up to every 'bad' tackle, dodgy decision by officials, corners, free kicks and so on and on...which I accept as an indivduals passion or excitement level.
As a solution to this minor irritant, why not make all the back rows in the stands as standing allowed zones...where they can congregate and leap up and down to their hearts content without causing nuisance to sitting fans. maybe the back 12 or 15 rows could be designated this way, so the one's who want to sit all or most of the time don't continue to have their view of the game blocked ?
Another observation is that the actual degree of gradient of some stands has n effect on this too. Shallow gradients sometimes mean even the person sat down in front of you can block some of the game, but if the stadium designs had steeper gradients then even someone standing would not block the view.
My personal ideal would be the designation of the South Stand as home area, where certain sections are clearly designated as standing (like the back 20 rows) and the others as sitting.

One of many possible sensible solutions to keep everybody happy. The shame is the powers that be have no sense!

your not alone there are many people who feel the same way as you.Theres an article in todays examiner with deano and lee Clark asking supporters to be a 12th man and get behind the team, unfortunately that will never happen because as soon as the fans try to get behind the team the stewards get themselves involved. you stand up in a church to sing and nobody gets killed someone ought to tell Robinson that

Everybody in the singing section wearing dog collars and singing: "Stand up, Stand up for Jesus" That would be so funny! Strangely enough the words are quite appropriate for a football match.

If you are aware of which steward caused this problem then give the guy a lot of heckling all afternoon and consequent afternoons.

'Aided by G4S, Huddersfield Town won the Sports Alliance Family Club of the Year Award for Coca- Cola League 1 at the 2008 Football League awards. The award has been introduced by The Football League to recognise clubs delivering an outstanding match day experience that encourages families to come back time and time again. All 72 clubs were visited by mystery shopper families, in both the home and away areas, as part of the assessment. ' www.g4s.uk.com/EN-GB/Media%20Centre/Case%20Studies/Event%20security%20solutions/Events%20-%20Galpharm%20Stadium/Think they might have got a bit ahead of themselves- i wouldnt quite describe the recent atmosphere as outstanding

John Robinson, Safety Officer for Football, KSDL highlights, “At Galpharm Stadium we rely heavily on G4S to help us with our match day arrangements and to support our own stewards to provide a safe and enjoyable environment. A sizeable number of the comments and feedback I receive are complimentary about the standard of the stewards we employ.”

He'll be out as soon as Town get back their shares. Beat Davy and we beat Robinson too. Two blights on our club removed forever....touch wood.

I've just seen something on Facebook was the lad thrown out called Matt (ginger haired lad)? If so he says he's been banned for standing.

Yes thats the lad My son in fact He was also told that he was 'inciting others' Inciting them to do WHAT Again no response from the stewards If or when you are asked to do something by a steward Ask to see the terms and conditions in writing there and then otherwise ,what can they do on their word
