Your crowd had been really noisy but as soon as our 3rd went in the tension from your crowd transmitted to the players who seemed to bottle it. 100% spot on unfortunately. That has happened at Hillsborough far too much over the last few years. Part of that is expectancy and desperation that we can finally get out of this league and the Championship when we were there but the sooner some of the vociferous moaners accept that we are where we are,the same level as everyone else we play, then the sooner they may appreciate what we are trying to achieve. I have been to some incredible games since i began following the Owls in the late 70's including some 49,000+ crowds at Hillsborough but we have to be patient and let the players build their fragile confidence at times. Thankfully our current squad are made of sterner stuff and have far more character. Incidentally,i don't understand some of the Wednesdayites hatred towards LC,i always admired him when he was a cracking player at the Geordies and seems to have got you challenging consistently. What was the deal the other week with a rival manager when he refused to shake his hand btw? I thought his head was gonna explode lol TBH I think LC is under pressure this year at Huddersfield, he has been there a good few years now, spent some money and okay last season you was unlucky, but pressure is on this year to go up, he even admitted it on TV that only second place is minimum.

cheers, good post,i have always liked weds till recently when some of your fans talk bollocks, been to a few of your games in the prem, remember the one against liverpool, the first time you played them after the disaster, think you won one nil. Don't let a few divs sour your view of Wednesday, seriously if you took out the quarter of the North Stand near your lot but spoke to the rest including the Kop and South Stand they would have plenty of time for your club and fans. Now Leeds are another matter......... As for the Liverpool game,i was there too but i'm sure it was 2-0 to us and we were at the bottom of the Prem at the time(could well have still been Division 1 actually?) Dalian Atkinson scored a reyt goal. Still got relegated though! 1989, Night game, played really well that season too.

i would like to ask operation pig a serious question... What is your opinion of the following?... 1) our defence / individual defenders 2) our pace 3) our top 3 players (youve already said roberts and rhodes so one more) 4) our worst player & why 5) our tactics? the only reason i ask this is because we have a lot of fans questioning things that i wanted an unbiased opinion of to see if it is just our blinkers or not. cheers Okay, i'll give it a go but forgive me for not knowing all of your players names. 1, Your defence, honest opinion was poor imo, thought Naysmith was really poor, you just could not handle our height and we passed it through you on the floor at will at times too, the weird thing is when I saw your game against Charlton you looked more decent/ solid but maybe i was looking through my Wednesday glasses. 2, Your pace was scary at times, and imo it was this that cost us, our defence at times stood off you and thats where you hurt us, Roberts was brilliant in the first 20 odd minutes too. 3, Sorry can't think of one, them two just stick in my head. 4, Worst player, tbf a few but mainly the defenders they all seem nervous when we attacked, actually lol Miller glad he went from us to you, he was dire for you. 5, Tactics, was okay for first 20 minutes but I have to stay we came out looking like none of our players knew each other, don't know why maybe the big crowd, big match etc, but you saw the true Wednesday from when we got the first goal, from that moment your game plan stopped, we made tactical changes to stop that too by bringing Marshall more central with Lines. - good work by Megson it worked! Overall I think your a decent side in L1, you definitely need to sort the defence out though and I'd be worried if Rhodes does get tempted in January by the Premiership lights, just because Hoyle said he's going nowhere there is nowt worse then having a player playing for your club wanting to be elsewhere. Be good if we both went up imvho, i don't mind Huddersfield.

You call us deluded too?? I could say had it not being for Jordan Rhodes you would have lost 4-0, stupid post pal. Well if Rhodes hadn't have played and we hadn't gift wrapped you 4 goals it'd have been 0-0 wouldn't it? Dumbass. Not really, only goal that you fkd up was our second, the others was a brilliant header, a quality finish by Marshall and a looping header that rooted your keeper, but try to cling on to something.

Xmas came early at Hillsboro' yesterday. Fourth biggest gate in the country brought the cash rolling in. And Santa's little helpers, in the shape of Town's defence, handed over four gift-wrapped goals. Had we not been in the festive spirit, we'd have won 4-0....away. You call us deluded too?? I could say had it not being for Jordan Rhodes you would have lost 4-0, stupid post pal.

Just a short response to your comment about the time not going up on the board. It did, I saw it, it was straight after you made a change practically dead on the 90minute mark, and it definitely said 5 minutes. I'll hold my hand up then but it usually gets announced too. Not going to harp on about the time though, yeah it was hard to take with the last kick of the game, but next week it might be us that benefits but the ref was a proper cock for both team imvho. Best game I've been to for a long time though, beats a bore 0-0.

First of all what a game!, excellent for both supporters and in front of a decent crowd before xmas, fair play to both for that. :appl:
First 20 minutes was just awful for us, we just didn't come out of the traps with any clue, Gary Roberts was doing my head in too, the way he kept getting in crosses, the warning signs was there before you scored tbf, but when you did I was fuming as we were playing so shite, when you went 2 up must admit I feared the worst, however we started to ask questions and thankfully got one back, and from 2-1 down it was a mixture of all the confidence draining from your side and growing in ours, from that moment it was all Wednesday until your late breakaway goals, when we got it back to 2-2 we were on fire could of been much more.
Second half we seemed very comfortable with you, for large periods of the game you were very quiet on and off, obviously we took the lead and then made it 4-2 but looked like we had it in the bag, cue the mass exodus from the away end, (why do fans do that?)
When you got your 3rd it was edgy stuff, but still we seemed okay but the quick pace nailed us for the 97 min equalizer, it was a bitter pill to swallow that because god only knows why the ref gave 7 mins of added time, i didn't even know how much was added on because it didn't go up on the board.
My view of you is Jorden Rhodes is an outstanding player, wethe r he goes in January or not he will soon be playing in the Premiership, yesterday must of been the day when everyone noticed Rhodes (top flight scouts), without him and I don't mean to be disrespectful you would have got mullered by us, everything was aimed at him for you (rightly so too) the other parts of your team didn't impress me that much (except for Gary Roberts early on) You did do some nice slick passes and the pace you had on the break was dangerous.
So after that nothing changed really, we still stay 4 points ahead (would of taken it tbh) Charlton didn't capitalized by the top two playing, Biggest winners was Sheff Utd, biggest losers surprisingly was MK Dons.
Just wish we would of had Madine and Buxton for yesterday.
The roller coaster continues..

I normally browse the other teams forum before we play them and what that 'massive' wrote was that embarrassing I had to sign up and post a reply lol. We've had no decent away crowd this season at Hillsborough apart from Chesterfield, and last season you were the best away fans to come to S6 so bring it on. I have also been keeping an eye on the Owls forum for the past month, and although I have read some pretty dillusion posts from your fans,Umpteen times from different posters.. 'Charlton and Huddersfield are going to fade away while we will grow as the season goes on blah blah, based on nothing but blind faith and hope etc etc'. It has actually proven the case over last two games for us. Every promotion hopeful team will have a slump in form and I just hope our current poor run ended against Bournemouth. As I say, I have been reading your forum and doubt I will contribute, but you do seem to have a' feel good factor' their at the moment, what with the Mandaric banner and Megson masks. All I can hope, and I say this as a promotion rival, not because I dislike Sheffield Wednesday, which I do not. But last season we had our own 'feel good factor' on the terraces, we had the 'PILKS WILL TEAR YOU APART AGAIN' banner. The impressive looking 'BELIEVE' poster campaign in the playoffs. It all culminated in 32,000 Town fans wearing Blue and White T shirts, with 'BELIEVE' written across our chest at Old Trafford It did sod all for us! I hope both ourselves and Wednesday go up, Sheffield is a great City, top class stadium and I live with an Owl so it would mean harmony and double celebration in the house. What a fantastic post, looking forward to Saturday mate.

Pig which end are you going in? Seeing as though you seem to enjoy the banter better with the superior Blue and white army? As you glance over to your left you will hear the loud Hillsboro' roar, not often heard at grounds now but make no mistake Hillsborough will be loud on Saturday, especially from your left.

Unfortunately pig yes i am coming but think we will lose We are on fire at the moment but you never know, it will probably end up a draw which would help Charlton, just cant understand how you have gone off the boil. MK dons and Sheff UTD seem to be butting in on the act now, whatever happens it's gonna be one hell of a season.

Based on their performance yesterday, Wednesday are very beatable. Centre backs panic under pressure and the midfield is culpable if you pass your way through it. They're also a bunch of niggly, dirty <insert expletive in plural>. And neither of their goals should have stood. Last three games conceded 0,... nice panic centre backs there kidda. Oh what was wrong with this goal? !

Well the second part of the season we have much more home games then away, if you lose next week your 7 points adrift of us and in free fall, tbf I didn't see that coming, seems like LC has hit the self destruct button. Why come on here if you already feel your promotion is sealed, worry if that twat Megson can get you back on track after your massive unbeaten run comes to a end. Why come on here? maybe I could of said the same after our game at Carlisle, and talking of Meggo, I'd hazard a guess if he was available you'd have him straight away to replace the no mark you lot have. Regarding our unbeaten run, yeah just like your run you are now on, decent run.

Can't wait for next Saturday now and even if the worst was to happen we will still be above you. Wednesday go marching on.... Charlton next. : :

His load is up in January, but don't get to excited, he has stated he wants to stay and sign for us, Pulis and Megson are very good mates so personally cannot see Pulis selling him to one of our promotion rivals, if it's about finance then Milan will get involved, that Mail report is tripe but believe what you want.

You had a major off day, I was expecting much more from you.
You seemed to lack ideas, final balls was woeful, misplaced passes and toothless, Charlton looked a solid unit, there not brilliant but they did things the right way, like us.
Rhodes was invisible, although his service was poor, Parkin looked tired, then we come to our ex Miller, all I'll say is rather him there then here.
roll on 17th.

Can't remember a time when I have ever been as affected at the passing of a sportsperson. Possibly Bobby Reason but due to his illness it was expected. Got me deep in thought now about depression and that you never know who has it. This will probably serve as catalyst to me to ensure all loved ones are looked after and that I will make the effort to be there when needed. Gutted Aye, good post that mate, still can't believe it myself, made even worse by watching him seemingly so happy on FF yesterday, absolutely stunned still!

Had two sons didn't he? OMG how awful.
Great Player. RIP.
