Morning all! I think a lot of you fellas are forgetting that this is the third home game in a row where we're beaten you. We may be in league 2 now, but this team and management team are better than anything we've had for a long time. This is a better team than the one we had the season before last, when we just lost out to Millwall in the league 1 play off final. You may have had a few first team players out, but so did we. I've also noted that a lot of your fans are saying this game meant so much to us and that we played out of our skins etc etc... that's how we play every game now under Paolo! We may have started the season a little slowly, but with 15 or so new players to integrate, that was always going to happen. Things are now really beginning to take shape. It's exciting times ahead for Swindon. On another note I'd just like to say that I wish Huddersfield all the best for the season, you really deserve to get promotion to the championship after your consistancy over the last few years. Hi mate, Wednesday fan here, I hope you achieve great success with DI Canio, he was a brilliant player when he played for us, had it not been for Danny Wilson and our old clueless Premiership board things would of turned out different for him, Wilson hung it out to dry after the Paul Alcock incident, sanctioned by our board. Wasn't too sure about him in a managerial role at first but he seems to be getting off the mark now. Tell Phil King he's Wednesday next time you're in the Blue Dolphin  ;D All the best.

On our forum? Watching our cup games on satellite channels?. Either your obssessed with us, or you really have nothing better to do. Which is it?. Perhaps you should be more concerned about Milan's court case. Agree with your comments about the game though. Milans case doesn't bother me one bit as we had nothing to do with it, he's not gonna go to jail over it and it will just probably be a fine or something - nothing to fear. Looking forward to your visit to Hillsborough, especially with that leaky defence, you have to admit even with a full strength side you still concede a lot of goals.

Granted you had a weakened side but WHY? surely a good cup run is a moral boost?
Your defence was a joke it has to be said, if that turns up at Hillsbro', you're in for a hiding.
You play very narrow, or it seems you did today, Swindon over ran you everywhere, you made them look good, they were ordinary that's it.
You guys have got some tough weeks ahead of you that's for sure, if you can come out on top after that then your as good as up, gonna be tough for you though especially after todays showing though.
P.S no more piss taking regarding Stevenage lol.

Once Madine stops scoring goals I think you'll struggle. United have a couple of decent strikers for this level and their first team, in my opinion, is one of the best in the league. With a little luck with injuries they will be up there. Out of interest why do you think you're a lot better equipped this season than last? Seem to lose too many silly games (a lot like us pre January) against teams you should be beating. How you managed to go to Stevenage and lose 5-1 is beyond me.[/quote]
Who are these decent strikers that United have? Name them.
We are much better equipped then last season in terms of better players, and Alan Irvine not being in charge as the main reason too (How can you say we're not anyway do you come to Hillsborough?)
Yes we lost to Stevenage, so did Sheff Utd, and Charlton and had they not been unlucky they would of took two points from you at home.
After all this we're only two points adrift of unbeatable Huddersfield.

Why are Wednesday called pigs?! Because that cartoony owl thing on the side of Hillsborough looks like a massive pigs snout. (Blades are also known as pigs as their kit looks like streaky bacon) It was Uniteds name, they started to call it back :iconlol: We sang 'hark now hear' refering to Boxing day 1979, guess what they sang it back. Wednesday was originally known as the blades and played round the corner from B Lane, - United was originally only founded to create competition for Wednesday, (on Wednesdays as this was THE WEDNESDAY cricket clubs day off). Our name changed in 1929 (i think) from THE to Sheffield. Now you know....

Don't think Holloway will extend or re-lone them out again, they needed to get fit, United have done that now it's time for them to go back, United have gained by it but you just watch them free fall and fizzle off form now on, them two players alone have carried the whole team into 4th. To be honest, the way I see it, you're more likely to fizzle out. I can see them being up there come May but I genuinely think you'll be the ones who slide down the table again. I can't see that you're so much better this year than last with the squad you have and that clown in charge? What makes you come up with that conclusion? just curious.

Sven went to Notts County Why did he leave?? I said that tongue-in-cheek actually and yeah Coventry does look unrealistic for him but you never know. Ipswich would be my guess though.

Clubs that spring to mind that could possibly tempt him are Ipswich (strong chance) Reading if they carry on the way their going, Hull now that Pearson is starting the Leicester Job and possibly Coventry. Coventry!!?? Sven went to Notts County

Only a matter of time before LC goes imo, it really can't be good with all this flying around too, can't see him going to Hull though, was sure he was going to Leicester (apparently he was) - how many managers could get the sack in the championship that could headhunt him. Name a championship club likely to sack their manager who he would leave us for. There aren't any. Clubs that spring to mind that could possibly tempt him are Ipswich (strong chance) Reading if they carry on the way their going, Hull now that Pearson is starting the Leicester Job and possibly Coventry.

Actually I am, Megson might not be in demand, his football might not be the most attractive to watch but he seems to be doing the job without getting unwanted interference too much, so yeah all is good here.

New Barrack Tavern was a good option on the way to the ground last year. Good ale and a decent atmosphere.. BTW, middle of the Upper Lepp is the best view in the away end, these will be the first tickets to go on sale too as this is the first place they sell from, imvho buying a ticket now will get you the best seat in the entire away end, bang in the centre on the upper. I went on the lower lepp from time to time in our Premiership days when other parts were sold out as a last resort.

I'm liking the front tier idea. It's a shame they dont go on sale first are there any " away " fans pubs you can recommend ? Depends which way you're coming from there are some but I'd drink in the town centre then get the tram straight to Middlewood Rd/Leppings Ln. You could drink close to the ground and use The New Barrack Tavern that has a mixture but they will be decent fans as it's also a real ale pub. Avoid Hillsborough corner at all costs though (Legends, Shakey, Ball, Rawson Springs, Freemasons Arms) these will be filled with Wednesday fans that will have a pop at you. There is a Pub called the Horse and Jockey up from "The Park" pub that will allow you in too, the Park pub is members only and this is near to the tram stop on Wadsley Lane.

I literally cannot wait for this. I work in Hillsborough and pass the ground every day. Getting a group of 5-10 people going, an ideal pre Christmas drink opportunity for some mates who don't massively follow Town. Bring it on. Where do you work in Hills out of curiosity?

Top tier of the Lepp is much better then the bottom as the view is hard to see at the other end, Top tier is much better.

What about a white armband with a poppy on it ? :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: The poppy then is not technically on the shirt, if they still objected then wear it anyway (fine etc) if the ref stopped the players then the game is called off lets see how much the world would support fifa then. We all know why fifa have dug it's heels in on this, how an organization like this has survived is beyond me anyway, the way it totally humiliated us over the world cup was sickening. I love football but part of me hated the sport over that affair and this is another example.

Who was the ass hole commenting on Town on Look north, Commented on Towns unbeaten run and quote, 42 games unbeaten run if you don't count the play offs, we used to but now apparently we don't, what a cock, what is it with the press and the Yorkshire press at that, They are so anti or negative Town its unreal, any other club in the country or Yorkshire and the press would be doing cart wheels. Same with us pal, they are all pro Leeds that's it. The year we won the League cup in 1991 every single TV station in the UK showed the extended highlights of the celebrations apart from Yorkshire TV, Instead they put War of the monster trucks on. Why? slightly strange seeing as we were a Yorkshire Club.

isn't that the point? keep a low away turn out to gain a better home crowd advantage - keep the numbers down by charging more for away fans - shocking tactic - they must be afraid of us!! Aye Sheff U tried that and see what happened there... :appl: :appl: Spot on.
