Sounded like they were on with plenty of building and renovating work. Is anyone able to elucidate further on that project? I was under the impression we already had a very high standard training facility, but perhaps I’m wrong.

I suspect it's more to do with accommodating the large increase in academy activity on site from next season.

Start of the end of the Club how it was. Canalside was a real unique asset and brilliant for the fans. Along comes the greedy league and away go the fans. The players don’t want to mix, security, private players lounge, and now no access at all. Our USP gone. We’re just a business and a secret one at that. Communication gone, trust gone in many quarters. I wished more than anything that I’d get to see Town in the Premier League and now I wish I hadn’t. It’s killed it for me. No dreams anymore really, because what would going back to the greedy league bring except more shite? And don’t mention selling the soul to the Chinese for a year or so with that shit dog. Remember that Year of the Dog display they did as well? Cringe. I used to love canalside but when they started setting up bouncy castles and drinking with plastic pint cups I was done with it. Wait until we all start turning up at 9am, having a barbie in our 50 ft long RV's, cheerleaders (Southend had the best), 40 bottles of bud by midday, playing stars and stripes before kickoff and bringing on a specialist kicker for all free kicks and pens! Ohh hang on we wont need a penalty taker until 2042- cant wait!!

Anyone know who owns canalside now? I dont recall dean selling it, he did separate it out from the club and he also said he would put it into trust for the club so it was always theirs.
So I guess he still owns it? Do we pay rent?

Do we pay rent? i don’t know how many times this has to be posted, and also apparently repeated by KN according to a post a few above, but Dean Hoyle is the sole owner of the freehold of Canalside (as he has been since 2010) and HTFC have a lease of 20 (or 25, can’t remember which) years which was put in place the day he handed over control of the club to Phil H.
