Bit of a switch around, Lou Macari's interview will be in Saturday's programme instead of the following Saturday. That just leaves Adnan Ahmed for the final game of the season. I've no idea if this will carry on into the next season. If we get relegated, and the inevitable cost-cutting begins, I suspect the first thing to go will be the programme. So there's a two-part interview with Gerry Murphy and interviews with Terry Dolan and Dennis Clarke that I'll have knocking around. Perhaps the club will put them on the website? Who knows. If not (and it doesn't do you out of any future earnings) It'd be nice if you posted them up here mate

That's the season over, 21 interviews were done and published in this season's programmes. I hope people enjoyed reading them.
Thanks to Brian Tickell, Tony Carss, Brian Horton, Iffy Onuora, Neal Trotman, Tim Hotte, Robert Wilson, Lee Fowler, Pawel Abbott, Steve Spriggs, Alan Sweeney, Grahame McGifford, Les Chapman, John Rudge, John Dungworth, Chris Hay, Alan Jones, Graham Cooper, Peter Hart, Lou Macari and Adnan Ahmed for giving up their time to talk to me.
I've no idea if this is going to continue. I really want it to, but only if there's somewhere for the interviews to be published.

A few people have been approached about the possibility of being interviewed, including a former manager, a former loan player who ended up playing for England and a member of Neil Warnock's Great Escape side.

Be interesting to hear anyone's thoughts on which interviews you prefer, are you more interested to read interviews from well-known players/legends or the lesser-known ones/players we've not necessarily heard from before? Or are you not fussed?

I've read ones which you've put out from players who I knew and enjoyed them as much as the players I didn't know. Ex Managers would be an interesting one. Has anyone got Mick Wadsworths number? 🤣

I don't care if you've played one game or 100 games, all players' memories are unique and add to the story. It's important to get those stories while we can. 42 interviews have been done now, it'd be nice to get to 100 at least. And I pride myself on not just interviewing Darren Bullock about Brentford!

I like to think I'm contributing to that documentation of our history and helping tell stories that we haven't heard before. Gerry Murphy's interview is in the can and a few more managers will be approached in the near future. I've already approached Eoin Hand.

If they've got a connection to Town** then I want to hear from them mate. ** I don't want them to go as far as Jack Charlton/Ireland though, not interested if the connection is their great gran once shagged Billy Smith

I like telling peoples' stories and feel that everyone's should be heard. Not Town-related but last year I interviewed Dave 'Blockhead' Wright, the keyboard player with 2 Tone band The Beat. He'd never done an in-depth interview before anyway, so that was pretty big for me but over the course of our conversation he revealed that after music, he'd been a drugs worker in the 1990s and played a huge role in tackling heroin addiction in kids, so much so that the Home Office actually observed him and a colleague in their work and used their methods for a nationwide effort to tackle the problem. I love it when these little stories come out of my conversations with people. The most important thing is that in years to come, when a lot of these players are no longer with us, their stories are on record and they've received a little bit of recognition for the part they played in our history.

A player who played in the 10-1 game at Man City in 1987, a member of the 1982-83 promotion team, a short-lived player with an interesting story after football, a player from the 1970s who ended up having a successful career in his home country and a brief member of the 1994-95 team are lined up for this season's group of interviews.
Along with Terry Dolan, Gerry Murphy and Dennis Clarke, which are already in the can.

Be interesting to hear anyone's thoughts on which interviews you prefer, are you more interested to read interviews from well-known players/legends or the lesser-known ones/players we've not necessarily heard from before? Or are you not fussed? There was a recent pic posted on FaceFaff, showing 5 apprentices sat on the wall in front of the stand at Leeds Road and Steve Smith stood opposite. I was school mates with one of them (Ian Wadsworth) and also played against him, Andrew Watson and Robert Ragiste (Marsden FC) in the Junior league on a Sunday. The other 2 were Robbie Turner and Phil Burns (I think). If you could get hold of Waddy then I think his story may be quite interesting, as I think he had a spell in New Zealand before forging a lower-league career in the German League. I believe both he and Andrew Watson are connected to Holmfirth FC these days. Also, Phil Burns (known as Morph) left Town for (I think) Portsmouth before seemingly becoming a boxer. Not sure you'd get much out of Watson that's not already known and I've no idea what happened to Ragiste and/or Turner though. Apparently your father played against the lads from Marsden FC and thinks they were all tossers, so he'll probably not read any interview(s) if you manage to get any...

Apparently your father played against the lads from Marsden FC and thinks they were all tossers, so he'll probably not read any interview(s) if you manage to get any...That stems from an incident when Fartown played at Royds Hall where Robert Ragiste ended up having a fight with one of the parents or something in about 1982 I'd probably be able to get hold of Ian Wadsworth through Shaun Weatherhead as he got him to sign some stuff for me years ago. Robbie Turner is also on the list of people to contact, prompted by that very picture you mention. Robert Ragiste is now in Canada and involved in education and Turner is a plumber down in Devon. I do plan on doing as many of these as I can over the coming years, but it just depends on whether they'll be published or not. I'm not doing them if no-one is willing to publish them, but if they start being put on the Heritage site again or the club continue to want them, then I'll do them.

For their sins, the club will be publishing the Heritage Project interviews in the programmes again this season.
While it will be of no interest to most on here, hopefully the few of you that are interested will enjoy what gets published during the coming season.

No idea why, but I guess it's down to priorities. I do put them on my own Twitter after every game.

The first interview for the season will be with Gerry Murphy. It will be a two-parter as it would be impossible to do the man justice in just one part. An employee of the club for 21 years between 1988 and 2009 and a very important figure. Was also caretaker manager on three occasions, each occasion seeing him beat a fierce rival.
It's one interview I've really wanted to do and it took a bit of work. A lad I know drinks in the Irish Centre, where Gerry also frequents, and he said that he'd ask him for me. A couple of months later he gave me a number and said, "Gerry is up for it but he says he's not a publicity seeker". He was right as well, as when I spoke to Gerry he was incredibly modest about his time at Town and kept stressing that it was important to have a good staff to work with.
However, it's right that Gerry is recognised and it's brilliant to be able to put his memories on record for the first time with his first in-depth interview.
