Good to see Marcus on BBC Breakfast, currently waiting for Kevin Sinfield at Denshaw along with Giants & HRFU (sons Kian & Fin play for) players/staff, running seven ultramarathons in seven days to raise awareness & funds for MND.......Hats off to all involved & few quid thrown in for a worthy cause.

Kevin Sinfield is due to get to Old Trafford for half time this afternoon. Sure there'll be a fantastic reception for him. What a guy. Think it was Chris Hoy who said - he's the friend you want, or the friend you would like to be (or something along those lines)

Interview with Marcus in today’s Mail.
Sorry not clever enough to do a link but he is doing better than the medics expected and, like most of the sufferers of this terrible condition, appears to have a positive outlook while knowing that there is little that can be done.

Think we should be dedicating a match to fundraising for MND. I noticed that he was down at Ipswich just after Christmas, so I'd assume they've done something similar. We've done stuff for other charities in the past, YAA, Help for hero's.

We've done stuff for other charities in the past, YAA, Help for hero's. Depends if it benefits Town. Last year, I enquired about whether we could dedicate a match to Steve Smith (similar to the Ray Wilson Match in 2018), where the club could raise awareness for dementia, which Smith is suffering from and some of his former teammates, and perhaps help to raise some funds. I'm still waiting to hear back on that one...

A DATM squad Vs a Marcus Stewart squad! Team DATM would be 90 minutes of Dyer vs Bowyer.

Both his lads have playing their part in Huddersfield RFU's recent revival winning four on the spin after a dismal start to the 1st half of the season, the club are also actively supporting MND with Marcus very much in mind......keep up the good run lads & lets hope some rubs off to your sporting neighbours.

I know things aren't great at Town at the moment but Macus' position puts things into perspective. I hope we do something, perhaps the next walk, for MND.

Just seen on the news that former Welsh international Jason Bowen has MND as well.
Played against us at Wembley in 1994 when he played for Swansea.

Must be hard for these lads, used to being super fit, but can do very little against this awful illness. Another sportsman who can bring further awareness of this condition. Maybe football and Rugby can designate a single Saturday where MND awareness is front and centre at all their games? We’re in that period now where there’s crossover and both codes of Rugby are in their competitive seasons.

On each occasion the best player (by some distance) was on the opposition - but so good that it was almost a pleasure to watch them carve through us like a hot knife through butter. Both outstanding footballers.

Sad read that, saw him at Wembley in the pub before the game was chatting about town and was in good spirits. Class player still one of best I’ve seen in a town shirt.

Both outstanding footballers. Remember Bowen playing for Brum at ours a couple of years later (95/96 season). A 4-2 win for Town in a game where a clearly past-it Steve Bruce handled the ball more than Steve Francis, and Bowen's sole contribution (as much as I can remember) was flipping the bird at the linesman in front of the Kilner.

4500 turned out at the Memorial ground yesterday for the Charity game (legends v all stars) organised by Marcus & friends/family. Town v Ipswich next season will hopefully see Marcus as guest of honour & supporting Town.......of course, he still has a home here & a Town legend at both clubs.

I heard Ipswich sold a few thousand reproduced Marcus Stewart shirt from the time he played there, you would think the 'Panasonic' (which I still buy & defo not Hisense) shirt would also sell well too......Plus a sizeable donation from the electronic giants for Mr Stewarts goal scoring advertising skills at the time.
