Gutted about this news, one of the best, in fact THE best forward I've seen in the flesh at Town.
Never saw Frankie or Lawman play and only got little glimpses of Iwan and Shearer and the rest.
Hopefully it's a slow burner and not a rapid decline.
I wonder if Stephen Darby, Doddie Weir and Rob Burrows have been in touch?

Thats so sad. Awful disease. Half of those diagnosed dont make 3 years, and its extremely rare to make 10. I really feel for him and his family.

Awful news. One of my all-time favourite ever Huddersfield Town players, and I think practically all supporters would concur with that.

Just reading this, another awful piece of news in what has been an awful week for Town fans.
An absolutely wonderful player, a funny character in person. My best wishes go to him and his family as he battles this cruel disease.
I can see a Stewy Walk happening from club to club happening to support the man, I’d chuck in for that!

Up there with Frankie as the most skilful player I have seen in the stripes.

Just heard the terrible news. He was a wonderful footballer and a real character too. Scored some wonderful goals. Never forget the 7-1 win over Crystal Palace.

My hopes and best wishes to one of the greatest goal scorers I’ve ever seen play in the blue and white stripes, and I’ve seen a few at my age.

Really saddened to hear this, one of the most naturally gifted I've seen in a Town shirt in my lifetime.

Puts things into perspective. A proper HTAFC legend, for me at least, I wish him and his family all the best.

Devastated to hear this. I only recently found on YouTube a video of all his goals whist with Town, and an interview with him remembering his time with us and how he loved the Town fans for the reception they gave him. His lad played for Huddersfield RUFC as well, he said on the interview?
A fantastic finisher and Town legend. Thoughts are with you Marcus, all the love to you and your family. It's been a week filled with tears as a Town fan.

Gutting, one of my absolute favourite players when I was younger. A little like Teddy Sheringham in that he wasn't blessed with a lot of pace, but he made up for that with his intelligence on the pitch

Fucking shit news.
I remember when Joost van der Westhuizen was diagnosed with it. It was horrible to see him being reduced from a 6ft 2" 14 stone wall of World Cup winning Rugby legend to a wheelchair bound cripple in only a few years.
Marcus Stewart is only 49. 3 years older than me.
Puts into fucking perspective some of the shit we've been discussing today and the last few days!!
Hold your loved ones close

I still consider the sale of Marcus to Ipswich as the worse piece of transfer business in our recent history, a top player/goal scorer well loved by all Town fans, best wishes to him and his family.
