I remember their excellent runs in the Vase under Gerry Murphy. I think there were over 6,000 there in a game against St Helens Town - one of them being me. Not Gerry Murphy though. Gerry Quinn was Emley manager at that time. Absolutely right. And I played the occasional game with Quinny at the Wappy too’! Haha. I’ll edit the original. |

I went to the Welfare today. Scrappy game on a boggy pitch. Whickham were a decent side but the Emley strikers were the difference, quality at this level
Great little club, excellent crowd of 828 and £3 a pint, happy days. Only 2 wins from Wembley now - up the pewits

Wappy had a great team back then.
The Emley team were all registered for Wappy but you were never sure who'd be playing....but not for the usual Sunday league alcohol related reasons!

Excellent 2-0 win against a team 2 divisions higher. 830 attendance. 2 more victories for a place at Wembley! They are the same level? They have to be, level nine is the highest level for the FA Vase. |

Emley joined in the hat for tomorrows live talksport draw by London teams Romford & Greenford, along with Worcester & Falmouth who beat Jersey removing the need to fly in the next round.....3 other ties postponed yesterday to be played next Sat.

Yeah, I got my divisions mixed up! You are indeed right. Thanks for correcting. I made same mistake at first, thinking Northern League was same as Northern Premier..but of course there are 16 leagues at level 9 including Northern League... Exactly what I did! The entire non league tier/step system with all the different/similar league names is very confusing! |

In 1959 they knocked Liverpool out of the FA Cup 3rd round...

Town played Worcester in the FA cup 2nd round, in 2006....we won 1-0 ....phew ! We drew Chelsea in round 3....

Some of us have already been to watch Town there…😊 At the old ground (St Georges Ln) in the City Centre, they now play off the main Droitwich Spa to Worcester road (Claines Lane) about halfway between the two (app 3 miles).......Emley should practice pens just in case, Worcester lost 13-14 to Scunthorpe in FAC (fac record). |

A huge 3 points towards the title with a 2-1 win at 3rd placed Garforth last night, next up is FAV cup quarter final at sold out Worcester City on Saturday, then a week today away at 2nd place Campion in Bradford.....Also Emley have a home tie in the last 8 of league cup.
