If i am not mistake, Emley will be in the same league as the mighty Liversedge next season along with Ossett, Bradford Park Avenue just a pity that Briggus Town got relegated on the last day of the season.

I am not sure which league Briggus will be in next season, but it would be a good game for Golcar.

Well by my reckoning Emley promoted from Golcars league and Brighouse relegated from Emleys new league, it looks that way 🟢⚫️👍

Got tickets for Emley away through today. That’d get some right fan points from Sunflower.
Sounds like Emley are intending to make it all ticket. General sale from Saturday 1st of June.

Just seen the tickets for Emely v Town advertised on The HTAFC club website against what looks like a lovely quaint wee footy ground indeed... Similar to the ones in The Highland League but a wee tad bigger looking than Grant Street, that of The Mighty Clachnacuddin FC 😊 It’s always nice and romantic to see lovely wee grounds such as that with houses, factories, churches and whatever else rising above them and it reminds me nostalgically of features on teams such as Emely getting featured on Football Focus for the first round of The FA cup on Grandstand - aaah the memories indeed... Anyway with the very greatest of respect for Emely although this isn’t a mast win game, surely Town can show some ariel threat and that this will be the signal that transmits that we are gonna make waves this coming season and that it will relay that we are on the pathe to better days ahead... I will monitor with interest how this game goes and see if Town Fare well at The Fare well !!! 😉

One of those 3 sided grounds, adjoining the cricket pitch .as per the older Brammal Lane, Northampton Town,.. Swindon..
Back in the glory years of fa amateur cup they put a temporary stand down the touchline such was the demand,5000 attended I believe...

Never liked the club at all. Always taken themselves far too seriously especially at youth level. I’m going back 20 years but the people who coached the kids were absolute grade A bell ends. It’s under 8’s- give every child some game time. It’s not Man City academy.

Whilst I agree it’s an intriguing away friendly with a chance to see the players at close hand, I’m pretty sure that we have had no senior players on display in recent previous seasons at this fixture.
The last time I think we sent the 1st team was in the days of Jim Goodwin and Anthony Pilkington.

It's a pity that Town don't arrange a friendly against Liversedge not only to boost their coffers but for all the Town fans who live in the area, and theirs plenty of them

I could have dreamt it though.... Were there any other grounds with 3 sides....I must have missed some, surely..........??

The stand opposite the TV cameras at Swindon always looked new in comparison to the rest of the ground so it nay have been. Darlington and Burnley had cricket grounds next door but seperate and Bradford Park Avenue had a brilliant stand between the two pitches that had a football side and a cricket side. I can't think of any others where it was 3 sided apart from Bramall Lane and Northampton. And Emley of course.

Swindon has never been three-sided. The cricket ground is behind the older main stand and is separated from it by a wide driveway and a row of trees and shrubs; the boundary to the cricket pitch must be roughly 30-40 yards from the back of the stand.
I saw Sutton at Swindon early last season; the coach arrived early, parked up at the end of the driveway (between the back of the stand and the cricket ground) by the away gates. A few of us walked round the edge of the cricket pitch to the cricket pavilion where there is a bar and watched a bit of the cricket that started at 2pm before going to watch the football.
The older main stand at Swindon was built in the 60’s I think but was preceded by a smaller stand.
The cricket pitches at Darlington and Burnley are behind one of the end stands/terraces and they were never three sided either.

If I remember correctly you had to walk round the Cricket pitch at Feethams. On another note. Does anybody know who plays/uses the new ground that was built for Darlington FC

Always go to Burnley CC before Turf Moor games - cracking bar, mix of Town and Burnley fans and good parking. Pretty sure it was where Jimmy Anderson started.

Does anybody know who plays/uses the new ground that was built for Darlington FC Cricket ground is still there (Darlington CC) the football ground is now a new housing estate. Don't forget Darlo built a brand new stadium (Darlington Arena) which is now used only by the RU club.......Also a stone throw away from a street named 'Emley Moor Road' (Darlington).

Thanks for the info irverino. Was just wondering where the new incarnation of Darlington FC play these days. I think they are in Conference North. So no need for a 25,000 seater stadium😉

I drove through Emley recently for the first time in years and was surprised.
The place in no longer a rough old mining village but a middle class hideaway from the rougher parts of West Yorkshire.
