Well, Steven Chicken has done a report so it looks like he & Balker are happening.

£2 million😬 2 goals in 11 games hmm, weren’t we linked with him in the summer? He has hardly played though. His 11 games have just been a few minutes from the subs bench. He still scored 2 goals and an assist though.

Why do people care how much of Kev Nagle’s money is being spent? FFP. Unless I've misunderstood, you're only allowed to lose a certain amount of money in a certain amount of time. The more we spend now trying to stay up, the less we have to build from later. Worth noting too that even if that's not the case - you'd expect KN's patience & willingness to invest will be tested if we spend a lot of money with little return.

The price reflects the fact we are absolutely desperate and everyone can see it. At least we aren’t leaving it to the final day and ballsing it up like we did with Adebayo. Had a little chuckle. 1. "SPEND SOME BLOODY MONEY NAGLE". 2. "[The prices] we're paying shows that we are absolutely desperate." Exactly. Damned if you do Damned if you don't. Or should I say "DATM'd if you do DATM'd if you don't.

He looks alright when there is nobody near him. Seriously though, there was a good free kick and a great penalty in this video. Hopefully it was more a case of excellent movement than atrocious marking. Hopefully he just needs to find the right club to get goals and if we're buying him that club is Town.

Wonder how much a striker with a current up to date good scoring record in the championship would actually be? Its a moot point really because he aint coming here at the moment anyway and if he is available we aint paying that fee or the wages. Still suprises me what sort of player some truly believe we are competing for???, Get one who has an idea where the goal is, is the general sort of striker we want and hope he gets chances and has a golden run of goals. That appears to cost a million or two at todays money.

Decent business from Watford. Those figures can’t be correct. Signing players on a free these days is far from free, he will have cost them a few quid with a few clubs offering him deals. Still good business from Watford though. We need goal scorers and he could work, could be other reasons why it hasn't worked for him at Watford. £2m for a striker these days, especially in January isn’t inflated.

'FFS. Another potless chairman not willing to commit funds into the club. Nagle needs to invest and quick, especially after the shit show of the summer! We can't even compete with the likes of Luton and Hull'....
....'NO! Don't spend that much now, on something we need, or that person! FFS! What are we doing!? Sack Cartwright. Nagle Out'.
Town fans are never happy.

Adam Leventhal - the Watford reporter for the Athletic confirms we are in advanced talks for Healey. £2 million! Story: Huddersfield Town are in advanced talks with Watford over the signing of striker Rhys Healey. The 29-year-old is close to completing a permanent transfer for a fee in the region of £2 million. The Englishman joined Watford as a free agent from Toulouse six months ago, signing a two-year deal with the option of a third. Healey has scored two goals and provided one assist in 13 games this season. Watford will look to sign a replacement striker this month. Watford take on Bristol City at Vicarage Road on Saturday while Huddersfield take on Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park on the same day. They got him for free in summer Sell him 6 months later for £2m after he scores 2 goals...and we buy him ?
Anyone else raising an eyebrow at this...?

Never heard of him and his record looks average to say the least HOWEVER people who know a lot more than me seem to think he's worth £2M and Watford fans seem sorry to lose him. With the squad that they've had in recent years that's surely a good sign.
Also extremely reassuring to know that the chairman means business and is putting serious money where his mouth is.
The fact he was free on the summer means nothing of course since he was out of contact.
Seems we're not messing about!
Edit: having said that looking at Watford forum they seem very happy with the fee and big question marks around his fitness. Hhmmmm

I know you take a highlight reel with a pinch of salt - even Mbenza and Diakhaby looked good on them However that's a really impressive highlight reel. Just watch it again He scores right foot, left foot, tap ins, from a distance and even a free kick Looks a very decent striker to me

Town fans are never happy. If we get Healey and Radinio to go with Matos and Bojan then I’ll certainly be very happy and Nagle has put his money where his mouth is. If being greedy I'd still be hoping for another player too either a ball playing midfielder or winger. The only thing I’m not happy about is Burgzorg being injured as I think he’s had a great first half to the season and would likely score even more as our team improves.

Rate it, natural finisher with a good record but plenty to prove at this level. £2m could prove a snip if he keeps us up. Big concern has to be his two knee injuries.

Anyone else raising an eyebrow at this...? If he contributes to us being at this level next season then it will have paid for itself. I would be more worried if we did bugger all.

Watford have come to the conclusion Healey isn't for them. Its fairly obvious no one is willing to pay the same wages for a 29 year old that's hardly played over the past 12 months, Watford wont be profiting very much if at all, most of it will be to get Healey to sit in our wage budget surely??

Has he had his Medical yet? And more importantly has he been on the training pitch yet as there are a lot of those knock things lying around that players seem to pick up.

Personally, I don't think we need another striker. I would rather the 2M be invested in a wing back or central midfielder. Then again, it isn't my money. Just don't want a repeat of the summer of 2018 where we just spent money willy nilly on average for the sake of it. Radulovic, Matos and the rumoured defender Balker are very good acquisitions. Shrewd signings using money wisely.

I mean, hopefully they (and Healey) will prove to be so, but we can't know until we've seen what they can do for us. All just guesswork.
