It's times like this when you realise what is important in life. It's not how untidy your daughters bedroom is or the mug and plate your son leaves on the lounge floor. We all need a bit of perspective in our lives occasionally. It's just very very sad that it takes something like this to realise that most of us have little to complain about. Condolences Ben to you and your partner. We have never met but the parents on here will realise how lucky we are and how dreadful this is for you both. I sincerely hope that you both find the strength to come through this.

Awful news!
Why don't the NSL arrange to pay a tribute on Saturday, perhaps turn & face the back of the stand on the 24th minute for a minute. Not part of the NSL, but surely the people that be could sort something.

This is very sad. I've only recently chatted to Ben for the first time, and he's a very nice and likeable guy. It's an awful thing to happen to a nice and decent couple. All the best to you Ben and your family, and if you want to keep your mind off of things, then come and join the lads down at Canalside and we'll look after you. All the best mate. I'll be there Saturday mate im pretty sure. Need to get out, 7 days in a hospital has aged me. We'll do our best mate

Heartbroken to hear this news. Life can be so cruel, sometimes even before it has truly began.
RIP little terrier, here's wishing your mum and dad all the strength possible to deal with this tragic loss.

Ben,
This brought tears to my eyes whilst at work. Having not long returned to work after a very similar situation. No words will make anything better but the support demonstrated on this thread and the support of those around you are the only thing that matter at this time. Football, new strikers, styles of play are shown to be immediately irrelevant and we should all remember the things that truly matter.
However, here's hoping for three points on Saturday and you manage to have a good day out.
I don't post on here but read everyday. If there is anytime you want to talk about it I would be happy and can recommend a few charities etc we have been in touch with recently for support.
All the best

Dreadful news. As a father of two myself I can only imagine the pain you must be going through - I'm not sure how I would cope.
My thoughts are with you and your family at this terrible time for you all.
R.I.P. James.

I still have the same number of kids I have always had. One isn't actually visible to the naked eye, but I can see her everyday.

There isn't really anything I can say that I haven't said to you already mate, so all I'm going to say is how proud I am of how strong you have stayed in such an unimaginably testing time. I'll see you on Saturday Brother.
