From here to eternity every season lets make the last home fixture in the month of September a celebration/Memorial Day of kinds for James. Lest we forget and let it be a constant reminder of what really is important in life - each other - and not whoever our current no.9 is. All of us at some point will go through loss but events like Bens are just horrendous to comprehend. #NSL day.........North Stand Loves.... God bless That would be a great idea and it's deffinately something I'll speak with the lads about it for future seasons. Thanks for your kind words.

As a recent new dad, the thought of that happening is impossible to comprehend and I can't even begin to imagine what you're going through. So sorry to hear of your loss, but I'm certain he'll never be forgotten by those people who knew him. Some things, quite simply, are far more important than football. Just reading the messages it's hard to hold back the tears. RIP James.

Just wanted to make you all aware of this. Last Wednesday on the 17th of September Ben and his wife Amanda welcomed their first child, James Greaves into the world, he was handed to his dad on a blue and white blanket and officially declared a town fan. I've only got to really know Ben well over the last few months as we've built up the NSL, but I was overjoyed for him, as a dad myself. Ben was due to go to Elland Road on Saturday to support his team, but a message came through that he wouldn't be attending as his boy was poorly and had been taken to hospital. Initially I wasn't aware of how ill James was, but over the next few days the seriousness of the situation became evident, he was in intensive care with the life support machine supporting his breathing. Ben rang me yesterday to tell me they were facing the impossible decision of whether to stop the care, or continue in the hope that the little one may some signs of recovery. Sadly all the tests and scans indicated that James was suffering from extensive brain damage. Young James gained his angel wings last night, with his family at his bedside, he is now resting peacefully and I'm sure you'll all join me and the rest of us that have been supporting Ben, in passing on our heartfelt condolences at such a tragic loss. R.I.P James, your life was too short, but you were and always will be remembered as a town fan. Sleep tight. X very very sad heard at halftime today.deep sympathy to all the family.i have a terminally ill child with cystic fibrosis life aint fair at times

Sometimes there can never be enough words deepest sympathies to Ben and Amanda. I hope the support of the HTAFC family has helped in some small way. James may only have had a short time but he'll always be a Terrier.
Very best and sincere wishes

There was a similar tribute in Canalside and I was standing right by Ben having just met him in person for the first time.
.
It was great to meet you Ben, and next time it will be in better circumstances. I know my words may have sounded awkward, but it was difficult to know what to say. I hope they helped.
Best wishes for the future mate.

You didn't sound awkward at all, I understand it's difficult for others to know what to say. I'm just happy that my son got rememberance and some awareness was achieved.
