At risk of being repetitive, I'm very sorry for your loss. Condolences to you, your wife and all your family, grandparents included. I count my blessings every day that my three are still here to share their lives with me.
You have our best wishes. R.I.P James, never forgotten x

thoughts are with you and your family Ben. RIP James x
For brief and fleeting moment, an angel touched the ground; With tiny wings and halo, and sweet, soft angel sounds.
Blessing the lives of others, in beauty and in grace; Those who saw the angel, knew God had kissed his tiny face.
The angel came for reasons we may not understand; A journey brief, with gifts so great, and guided by God's hand.
So, rest now tiny angel, your work on earth is through; In the beauty of God's perfect love we saw His gift in you.

It's impossible to offer any words that could assuage your grief at this awful, tragic time. Just know that you have many friends, even though you may never have met them, who are thinking of you. Chin up if you can dude.

I've just recently become a father and I struggled to read that, fighting back the emotions.
I wish you every strength to cope at this time and for your family.
My (very emotional) thoughts are with you at this time.

My little boy turned 2 in August and reading about your loss has moved me to tears, i can't begin to imagine where you are all getting the strength from to get through this. My ex lost her nephew when he was only a few days old and i know there isn't a day goes by when the little lad is remembered fondly in his few precious days on this earth, as young James shall be remembered too.
All my love from a fellow parent and Town fan.
RIP James

What awful news. It's hard to know what to say without everything appearing a real understatement. Whilst it'll never bring him back, I can only hope that you have the support around you that you need.
May he rest in peace!

Hard to add anything new to this thread but just wanted to say that you and your family are in my thoughts . I think I will leave datm alone for the night as discussing which player tweeted what or which is Harry bunns best position doesn't seem in anyway relevant after reading that news. I'm really glad you can draw some comfort and strength from the support of your fellow town fans and I hope this helps you stay strong for your family
RIP lil fella x

I have a four year old and we're a couple of weeks away from our second. While I can't imagine what you must be going through, I know how I'd feel if anything bad happened to any of mine, let alone actually losing them. I'm so heartbroken when I hear of parents who are put through this. May your loved ones help you and each other through the difficult times and enable you to keep going. One day at a time. And hopefully Town can provide a welcome distraction and maybe even a little cheer.

Just wanted to make you all aware of this. Last Wednesday on the 17th of September Ben and his wife Amanda welcomed their first child, James Greaves into the world, he was handed to his dad on a blue and white blanket and officially declared a town fan. I've only got to really know Ben well over the last few months as we've built up the NSL, but I was overjoyed for him, as a dad myself. Ben was due to go to Elland Road on Saturday to support his team, but a message came through that he wouldn't be attending as his boy was poorly and had been taken to hospital. Initially I wasn't aware of how ill James was, but over the next few days the seriousness of the situation became evident, he was in intensive care with the life support machine supporting his breathing. Ben rang me yesterday to tell me they were facing the impossible decision of whether to stop the care, or continue in the hope that the little one may some signs of recovery. Sadly all the tests and scans indicated that James was suffering from extensive brain damage. Young James gained his angel wings last night, with his family at his bedside, he is now resting peacefully and I'm sure you'll all join me and the rest of us that have been supporting Ben, in passing on our heartfelt condolences at such a tragic loss. R.I.P James, your life was too short, but you were and always will be remembered as a town fan. Sleep tight. X As a father and grandfather a very sad day for all concerned wish both parents all the strength they will need.rip

Spoke with Ben again earlier. Baby James in his short time on this earth was born a Terrier.
Though James will never be able to enjoy supporting Ben's beloved club in body, his support will live forever in spirit through his father, who has given his all to help try and build a better future for the club he holds dear to his heart.
I've known Ben a matter of months, but during that time we have become good friends, we stand together, travel away together and sing together, I know he has a heart of gold and I'm devastated for his loss.
But I also know he wishes to celebrate his son by doing good in his name.
If you wish to join us on Saturday in the North Stand, please do. We are more determined than EVER to succeed.
To James Greaves, rest in peace young terrier x
