A couple of years ago I set up a thread similar to this so thought i would do the same again this year ahead of the run in. Below are all the remaining fixtures for the teams in trouble. At this stage i have included up to Reading in 16th, i think those above Reading will be fine unless points deductions are given. I have highlighted in red the "6 pointers" between the bottom 9 and i will keep this updated as we head towards the end of the season, removing any teams that get safe or adding in any others that may drop in. Interestingly Stoke's next 6 are all against fellow relegation rivals but then none after that. Luton, Reading and Wigan also have 6 matches against the others whilst Town, Boro and Barnsley have just 4. Most interesting may be that the only week where none of the bottom 9 play each other, is the final weekend. Could make for an interesting day (as long as we aren't involved)

Luton away v Leeds to be a 6 pointer?
We wish!!
Edit ...but good thread - thanks!
further Edit.....We need to be safe having played Luton, otherwise it really could be squeaky bum time!!

After Tuesday I was feeling a bit more confident - looking at your table RochdaleT makes me a bit more nervous. It could be argued that at least half our forthcoming fixtures are very difficult, on paper anyway.

I don't like the look of our away games at all. And only 4 out of the last 10 at home. If we lose tomorrow it's time to worry.

West Brom hopefully be on the beach when we play them. Could we guarantee safety against them like we did in the Great Escape season??

Run in is irrelevant. We won’t be getting relegated this year.

Often when fans look at upcoming fixtures they think `thats daunting`, but look at some of the results involving teams around us over the last few weeks....Fulham v Barnsley....Leeds v Wigan, only the other night Luton who have lost 20 odd games already this season beat Brentford one of the best sides in the division, dont take too take much notice of teams forthcoming fixtures, each game as it comes and all that, expect the unexpected!

It's all irrelevant, it's already been decided on the Guaranteed Safety thread that we're going to have a China style lock down with all public transport cancelled and all gatherings of more than 3 people banned.

I reckon most important in how difficult the run-in is determined by whether the opposition has anything to play for by the time you play them. We’ll likely have 6 or 7 games from 11 where they do, as do most of the others.
Stoke could have 10.

I agree with blanqu, always said I'd rather play last few games against mid tablers with no chance of going down or getting into playoffs, even if they happen to be above us at the time.

The good thing about having so many teams in the mix is that at least three will go on shit runs. As long as one of them is not us - we will be ok if we are average.

ooof I think tomorrow just doubled in importance looking at that. UTT Indeed, I was taking it one game at a time until I studied that! Cheers Rochdale... Anywhere between 16th and 22nd 5pm tomorrow and all clubs will say it's in their own hands,,,,,

I think 16th would be a bit optimistic with a GD gap of 15 between us and Reading but the point stands that the potential permutations after just one round of fixtures today is a bit mind blowing. It could be that way for quite a few weekends between now and May looking at the OPs run in schedule.

If we play like we did against Swansea, every game looks daunting, play like we did on Tuesday and we could pick up points in every game.

If you look at the relative home and away form of the teams we have to play, as per the table before todays games -
Our Home games are against teams who are -
20th 18th 13th 24th 1st
and our away games are against teams who are -
4th 12th 19th 24th 14th 9th

We play Leeds who are 2nd and definitely can't play the bottom side both home and away in the last few fixtures

If Boro lose on Monday then I think we need 3 wins to be safe. Based on what I saw today and with their deluded manager I'm not sure Charlton are going to be ok either.
