There used to be a poster on here at one time called 'bugliner'. My Dad grew up in Brackenhall/Sheepridge area, 50s & 60s -- 'bugliner'. I grew up around NewMill/Wooldale area, 70s & 80s -- 'bogliner'. he is still here, and posts very regularly - like you he has a new handle. |

These are my thoughts, and they are not underpinned by any evidence whatsoever. Bear with me if you will. DH - Hey Phil, I am looking to sell the club as I have been a bit unwell. How about I sell you 75% of the club shares on the cheap, and you then pay me back my $35M using the clubs money. PH - great idea Dean, I am all over it like a rash. A bit later on.....PH - sorry Dean, its all gone a bit Pete Tong on the Pure side, we cant afford to give you your money back, and if you don't spend some more cash we will probably go into administration. DH -no worries Phil, sell me back the 75% of the shares and I will take over again. PH - sorry mate, I need all the cash I can get, you are going to have to pay the going rate. DH - surely you are having a laugh, I will just pay you what you paid me. PH - sorry that's not happening!! And that is what I think has happened...

I thought we had some good passages of play against Preston, but I was frustrated in the way we persisted with Thomas putting cross after cross in from the right side, but nothing came from them. Either we don't have the right players who can get on them, or the crosses, although they look good are to nobody in particular. It clearly wasn't paying any dividends, but we did not change that at all.

This is truly a depressing thread. Hogg is more than a legend for me, he is up there in the same box as Booth, Stewart and Mooy. If MF has alienated him, then this is truly a dark day, and the quicker we get shut off him (MF) the better.

Its about time to be honest. When we were in the PL I really enjoyed the fact that I could watch every game. Even if I was occupied I could watch them on demand later. The EFL has thrown Billions of pounds down the drain over the years with its archaic policies. You would imagine that the PL is none too happy about this as it will take away some of their audience, and the extra injection of cash into the Championship should help to close the gap somewhat.

For those of you with sharp eyes, you will have noticed that we have renamed the media board, the Eleanor Haigh Media Board. This was the idea of one of your admins - Wingman, but was agreed unanimously. Its not an overly used board, but we hope you appreciate the tribute.
